12.29.2003 :: Christmas, in retrospect
When it was all said and done, here"s what the place looked like...

I"m sure your looked similar, unless you are organized gift openers. It takes a long while for my house to get over this.
And look...

My Mother In Law, DOES rock! She loved the scarf. Clashes a bit with her holiday outfit, no?
My favorite part of Christmas is not the gifts (although, I DO accept them!:) It is the smells...The pine smell, the peanut butter or sugar cookies, the ham roasting in the oven. The sights.....The Christmas lights! The neighborhood looks so bright and cheery in the early winter darkness. The sounds.....I listened to more Christmas carols this year than any other. I miss them already. I"m still humming them. Let"s not forget the taste of Christmas. Said peanut butter cookies with a chocolate kiss on top. YUM. So many tastes of Christmas, well.....there will be a diet coming on. rats.
Alas, it"s not over yet. I get to do Christmas, part deux and Christmas part Trois this Sunday and next Sunday. It just never ends, does it?
This is one of the little things that made me extraordinarily happy this Christmas. I found it Christmas Eve.

At Target. The best $7.00 I"ve ever spent on myself. I have no idea if I will ever decorate it, or not. Just having a tinsel tree around is happiness enough!
"scuse me while I eat yet another peanut butter cookie. Can"t let them go to waste, can I??

Lovin" that tinsel tree Sandy! My house looked remarkably like yours on the 25th... must have been the same gremlins messing up my place as yours! Hope you had a terrific Christmas, and all the best in the New Year!Ginny[gareid@wightman.ca]

Yep - our house looked like that too. Ain"t it grand? But we worked all morning and everything is gone now (trash AND decorations). Hey - when it"s over, it"s over! I was proud that we managed to get our tree back into it"s box. How often does that happen? Must be an omen for a good year to come. :)
I"m SO glad you had a great Christmas! (I"ll shut up now! ha!)Bron[graymist35@earthlink.net]
