Hi Sandy....I"m a long time lurker who is only a few days behind on blog reading. I remember only two "other" versions of 12DOC. One was one my dad used to sing back in the sixties when I was little. The only line I remember was in place of "and a partridge in a pear tree" you sang "and a Japanese transitor radio, cha-cha-cha!". The other version was one I learned in high school choir during the seventies. It was actually "The Twelve Days After Christmas". The tune was different and the gist of it was...well, here is the first 2 lines. "The first day after Christmas, my true love and I had a fight. And so I chopped the pear tree down and burned it just for spite". It went on from there of course. Ah........memories of Christmas Past. Holiday Greetings to you and yours. I return to lurkdom.Mary[mcliffrd@gvtc.com]
