04.30.2003 :: beware the egg.......

I submit to you, THE EGG! Yes, it looks innocent enough! Beware it's bewitching power......When dyed into pretty colors for Easter, then made into egg salad. Ahhhh, there is where it all turns rotten! HOW can a person get an egg salad injury? You ask. Well, I'll tell you. I had about 8 left over pretty colored easter eggs just wanting to be turned into egg salad sandwiches. So I complied. It was the mashing of the eggs with the fork that got me. Yes, it's true, my hand is still hurting from it. A cramp. That won't go away. Drats. Not just any cramp. A cramp in my right hand. You may know that hand, as my knitting hand. So, as I knit on the cool ocean sock, I can feel the cramp speaking up. More and more. So, I put the sock aside and go to bed. And I proceed to sleep on it funny or something. OUCH! So, today I will be nursing my egg salad injury. will I knit? Probably. But probably not as much as I'd like to. drat!
I am still itching to start the Missouri River blues sock. But due to , well, the egg, I can more easily put it off (In body,not in mind). For now.

Sandy, Just remember, I know where you live and I can watch to see if you are taking Pioneer Dr. Melissa's advice! Hope that hand is better soon so we can get on to Suki and Bair Isle!Chris [chrisknits@insightbb.com]

yes, listen to Pioneer M! That's good advice. You'll be back with a vengence tomorrow. Did your new Interweave Knits come in the mail today? If it did, sit down and read it and enjoy your knitting day off! :-) Leigh [leighespencer@hotmail.com]

Good heavens, woman. We can't leave you alone for a minute. I went to nursing school so don't be stubborn and listen up. You have to take a whole day off from knitting/typing/fine motor skills. And, cramping is indicative of low potassium, so eat some bananas, beer, avocado, tuna, cantaloupe, and spinach and/or a supplement and call me in the morning. You need a day to rest it. And I've got the spy cam on you so don't try any fast moves. xxooPioneer Melissa [pioneermelissa@sympatico.ca]

I have a suggestion for the cramp in your hand - at least it works for me - and if it doesn't work the rest of your muscles will feel good.
You could try having an epsom salt bath but instead of adding a measly amount add at least 4 cups of the salts. You could also add 1/2 a cup of baking soda to soften the water... and your skin for that matter. It is soooooo relaxing and an excellent way to absorb some magnesium.
The cheapest place for the Epsom salts that I have found is Costco but you can find them in most supermarkets and definately in the Pharmacy.
Good luck with your hand - hope you're feeling better soon!Visit me @ http://knittingiamaprincessdamnit.blogspot.com/
