04.29.2003 :: Peeple who need Peeple
Hello Peeple! Who would have thunk it????
Yup! Peeps have gone Patriotic! Now we can fly flags, wear red, white and blue and eat peeps to show the love for our country! And this page is hilarious! Peep Research! A study of how peeps react to cold, heat and low pressure environments. Science at it's most entertaining.
Oh, knitting? sure I did some! I got some work done on the second cool ocean sock. Hopefully they will be done in 2 days. Yup, that's right! 2 days! I am past the heel! I did not have the same trouble this time. I am almost done the gussets. How exciting is that? Well, for me, very!
It is a curious thing, when we are rounding the finish line on a project, isn;t it? For instance, I have a hank of Mountain Colors, in the color Missouri River Blue (this swatch does not show the true beauty of the colors!). It has been sitting there for about a year. Sure, I look at it every now and then. Admire it. Move on. For some reason, yesterday, I took the hank out, rolled it into a ball. And while doing so, I realize just how beautiful the colors are. I am getting more and more entranced as I wind. WOW! Now my mind is racing. I gotta make some socks with this beautiful yarn! My mind is planning, planning! I can't wait to start! My knitting needles are rubbing themselves together in anticipation! I will wait until I am done the cool ocean socks, even if it kills me!

The Missouri River Blue yarn looks beautiful. I understand completely the rush to get on to the next project. What's up with that? Why isn't the second sock as exciting as the first? Wish there were a way to work both at the same time, like working two sweater sleeves on one needle. Oh, the agony! Heeehee!
Red, white & blue peeps? Too funny!
Way to go, finishing those socks in the next two days. I only have 3 inches done on the top of my second Araucania sock, so I'm probably not going to get it done until this upcoming weekend. But I've been perusing sock patterns and yarn.....this sock knitting thing requires more discipline than I thought!
Have a great Monday!Kim [gibknits@earthlink.net]

EEgads, I go away for a few days and come back to see you're having a peep show! As Kathy said, we don't have them in Canada. Here 'peeps' have another meaning....
So are you hosting this Suki knit along? I would like to join in if I can get my yarn dyed in time.
You're making the sock knitting world proud, woman!Pioneer Melissa [pioneermelissa@sympatico.ca]
