Since when did mashing potatoes become an aerobic activity?? I need to exercise more!
Forget the gym, forget the pilates! Here's the newest exercise machine. Send $19 .99 and you'll get the revolutionized exercise system that will strengthen and tone your arms and give your heart a workout. BUT WAIT! THERE"S MORE!! Not only can you use this wonderful machine for exercising, but it can do double duty as an ordinary potato masher. What a deal!
The other day a package came from Kim. The great book exchange was complete. But wait! She scored some serious brownie points by including some chocolate in with the wonderful book (Icy Sparks). Not just any chocolate. But chocolate that I have never heard of before. More extra brownie points. Idaho Spuds. COOL! The kids think they must have died and gone to heaven with all of Mom's new friends sending candy through the mail. ("Sure, kids, here's some candy from a stranger from another state. EAt up! hmmmmm.....a good lesson on trust in there, eh?) And while I am not Idaho Spuds biggest fan, I am one thrilled knitter having had the chance to sample a regional candy from across the U. S. of A. Thank you, Kim for widening my horizons! It has occured to me that it might just be cheaper to go out and buy the book, but it's not as fun! And I figure that we are doing Mother Earth a favor. Recycle, reuse! Yes, we are just being Earth Crusaders (not cheapskates, really)
Yesterday was the weirdest weather day I have seen in a long time. One moment it was pouring rain. The next the SUN would shine for a couple of minutes. We saw the meanest looking skies in a long time. During one of these transitions, one side of my house was sunny and one side mean looking and low and behold, this is what I saw....
You have to admit. That sky looks angry. What a beautiful rainbow, though! A bonus to the day! Thanks, I needed that!
Knitting? Oh, is that what you came here for.....Yes, I knit more on Inishmaan. Can't show you a picture of it every day. Just envisualize it with a couple of more rows on the top. I am getting excited though, as I'm coming to the homestretch of the back. Then SLEEVES! Oh, who would have thought?? Me?? Knitting sleeves?? I'm having a moment! I'm glad you were here for it!

That's not the ocean you're smelling, Gib. ;)
Sandy, what can I say? It was a beautiful moment. Thanks for sharing. Inishmaan, Finish Man! (or is it Finish Mon? or Finnish Mun?)Stinker

Good Morning Dandy Sandy,
Potato mashers and rainbows and chocolate Idaho spuds. Interesting. Perhaps Steek should do the mashing from now on so you can focus on the knitting.Pioneer Melissa

Good morning, you crazy nut. I never thought of the "candy from a stranger in another state" trust issue, but you're absolutely right. Yikes! These Spuds are safe. Honest. They may look like uhm...well, they may look odd, and they might have a bizarre consistency, but they're safe. :)
Beautiful rainbow...I can almost smell the ocean from those pictures! *envy-envy-envy*Kim [gibknits@earthlink.net]
