05.28.2003 :: Let the sunshine
For any of you that happen to be in the New England area, this is called sunshine. I know that we have not personally seen sunshine in a long time, but it does exist. We have to believe. Just as we believe in Santa Claus, even though we don't actually see him. But he exists. So does the sun. Really.
Okay, it has been raining here for so long, gloom is the word of the day. On the flip side, though, everything is turning green and lush. So, eventually when we get to go outside, it will probably be very enjoyable.
Note: Anyone else in any geographical area that may need to see the sunshine is certainly not left out of our symathy, here at Sandysknitting.
Heres a picture of the techno hair I am knitting.
I have about2 rows left to knit. You'd think I coulda finished it last night, wouldn't you? No. I couldn't knit one more stitch. So today it will get finished. I'm not sure I am happy with it as the original purpose, which is as a joke hair replacement. Like I said, it's rather feathery and boa like. I'm not sure this is the yarn for this purpose.
Well, have a good Tuesday that feels like Monday.

Good Morning Sunshine,
Ooops, I mean Sandy. If it's not sunny by the end of the week, just gas up the car and drive non-stop until you find some. Get out of the car, lay down and soak up them rays. It's so hard to go without it. No wonder all my relatives in Vancouver are so weird. LOL.Pioneer Melissa

It's sunny where I live. No rain in a month. Where do YOU live? Sunny Bunny

PM, you have relatives in Vancouver?! And they're weird? Cool! I'm close to Vancouver...AND I'm close to weird! Coincidence? I think not!Gibz [gibknits@earthlink.net]

The picture of the techno hair looks terrific--it looks pretty hair-like from this end, but these pictures don't always show us the same thing the knitter sees. :)
I'll send some sunshine your way, sweetpea. With the way our mail service is, it should take about 10 days to get there. Kim [gibknits@earthlink.net]

Your weather sounds the very same as ours. I'm dying for some warm sunny weather. Kathy [kathy.wortel@sympatico.ca]

I like how the techno hair looks. Especially if it's joke hair. I'd say let 'em try it and make another if it's not satisfactory. I think you should do one in a multi color eyelash, for those days that need a little more brightness in them. Make a few. :-)

hi Sandy!
hopefully i can update my site tomorrow sometime - since my laptop died things have been harder to get done. aaargh.
and i totally agree with you - i think we all just have to have faith that the sun is still out there somewhere.
about the LYSs - there's one in Rockport - that's the closest to me -it's called Knit Wit. the yarn selection isn't that great, but the needle selection is good. and the woman who runs the place is sometimes seriously not that nice.
the one i frequent most often is Abbott Yarn on Cabot St. i'm sure you are familiar with that one. Everyone's VERY nice there.
And the other one that I sometimes go to is in Ipswich - Loom & Shuttle. quilting & knitting shop. very helpful kind people. fair selection, i'd say.
maybe in the next couple days (i have this week off from work) i'll get to Cranberry Quilters.
but i'd love love love to go to Woolcott & Co in Cambridge. I've heard GREAT things about that shop.
Take care,
think SUN!Lisa [lisa.downing@verizon.net]
