09.20.2003 :: Groundhog day already??
It is true that when I wake up to certain songs playing on the radio that they get stuck in my head for the day. I'm screwed today as the song was I got you babe, Sonny and Cher. There is something about this song that sticks like glue. Whenever you think you have shaken it, the melody comes back to haunt you. Today will be my own personal Groundhog Day!
I was all set to extol the virtues of this knitting needle.

It is the Inox express nickel plated circular knitting needles. They are half the price of my revered addi turbo needles and I loved them just as much. BUT. (here it is. The "but") By the forth day of usage, the nickel plating cracked open and peeled off on one of the tips. How disappointing is that! I was ready to be converted! I can have my nickel coated needles at half the cost???? I've beaten the system! Zoink. Nope, never mind. I guess they were not all they were cracked up to be. You really DO get what you pay for. Drats, foiled again!
I"ve got you babe!

There were problems with the manufacture of some INOX about a year ago that has since been cleared up---some of the ones made in Mexico were splitty, as you reported. Supposedly the Germans came down HARD and the quality should be back to normal (excellent!). Take your splitty needle back to the LYS and get an exchange. Their supplier should replace it for them, in turn.Rob [rob@threadbearfiberarts.com]

Someday I'm going to have to break down & buy some Turbos...maybe as a reward for learning how to knit the Continental way. :) Thanks for the heads up on the Inox needles!Bron [graymist35@aol.com]

Another thing about the Inox Express needles is that in the bigger sizes they're really noisy ! Quite irritating - clack,clack,clack ! I was surprised at how much louder they were.
I love my Addi turbos !Emma

Sandy, that wasn't the radio. It was your hubby trying to serenade you with his Sonny Bono imitation.
Sorry to hear the knitting needles didn't pass the test -- I was getting excited for a moment there since I just spent $23 for one 32" 8mm Addi circular. Perhaps the nickle ones would be good as chopsticks -- like mittens with strings. Get it?Pioneer Melissa

I'm was a dyed in the wool bamboo/Addi freak. I bought a Denise kit for collars because I was tired of having to purchase a new set whenever the size vs. length requirements changed.
I can't stand using anything else.Marcia
