05.21.2004 :: Thank you, Dahling!

Flowers from my honey!
What is the equivalent of flowers for men? My husband can bring home any size bouquet of flowers and I will be a happy woman. What can you quickly pick up for a man to surprise them and make them happy Only clean minded proposals will be entertained. I have been married for 20 years (to the same man, yet! )? and I have yet to find the perfect man happy gift. Please share if you have found it!? I did give him his unfinished anniversary hat and he got that it was a gift made with love. Isn't that great when they get it?? He was grateful, though, that he would not need it for awhile, the cold weather having retreated for a couple of months.
Not one stitch was knit last night. We have very good friends who share the same anniversary with us. We did not know them at the time, but we got married the same day and same year, so we celebrate together every year. We all went to dinner at Yanks Restaurant in the exclusive Beverly Farms (or as some residents say, Beverly FAHMS!) where we wined and dined in elegance and were a tad surprised by the hefty check at the end. Good thing for charge cards!?
Tonight I have a date with Charlotte. No flowers, no dinner (okay, some dinner) just me and the koigu!

CDs. Especially old ones from when he was a rocker in his twenties! I think you're on the right track with the hat. My husband would love it and wear it, you know, until he's 80. Your flowers are the, sob-sob, same, sob-sob, color as my, sniffle, Charlotte's Web - WAHHHH!!!!Mary Beth [irwinmb@sbcglobal.net]

My hubby loves it when I vacum out his car or clean the car windows. I always leave him a little love note stuck to the steering wheel. But it is very hard to surprise them with that sort of thing.dragonridermom

My boyfriend likes getting practical gifts. However, he was completely and totally happy when I presented him with the Four Volume set of Winston Churchill's History of English Speaking Peoples. Its really out of print, but I found it on ebay for 20 dollars. He kept picking it up, thumbing through them, and sniffing the pages. It was adorable.
He's more likely to bring me t-shirts from wherever work sends him, or stuffed animals. He's not much of a flower person, but that's okay.
So, I would see if there's something that he's been wanting, but can't find, and see if you can find it.Gail [gail@houseofcritters.org]

Happy Anniversary! OOOHHH! Food architecture at Yanks! Looks yummy! My husband, although he won't admit it, loves romatic letters or notes from me. I know that he likes it because he keeps all of them. Like us, it doesn't take a lot of money to make them happy.
Congratulations on 20 Happy years together!Mairin [mairbren@yahoo.ca]

It's true most men love power tools or gadgets. The other things they love...fit more into the naked and beverage categories. The flowers are beautiful. My husband is good about giving flowers - I always say he is renewing his lease. ;) The hat was a gift of love, which I'm sure he recognized. Enjoy your Charlotte interlude!Bliss [blissfulknitter@hotmail.com]

Yes, men love tools. Even if they don't do a lot of home improvement or building, like mine! :) And the flowers are beeeyootiful!Brooks [brooks7@earthlink.net]

Beautiful flowers! I have some suggestions for "gifts" for your hubby, but they might be X rated! ;)
If you're like me, the hat is gift enough! Oy!
Enjoy your hot date with Koigu.
By the way, Uli emailed me her spreadsheet and it is a HUGE help. Easy to see where you are at all times.Annie

What beautiful flowers! Awww, that Mr. Sandy--he's a dandy! You could always take him to Seattle for a coffee-sampling vacation. :)
Hope you're having a great week!Kim [gibknits@earthlink.net]
