04.24.2004 :: My mission, should I choose to accept it

I have been dreaming of Mission Falls Cotton since I visited my new to me local yarn dealer store. I knew I had to make something out of it. But what As luck would have it, I stumbled across this sweater.? And I have a new boy baby to knit for. Serendipity? Perhaps. These are the colors I came up with.

Cotton This must be a Spring Fling!
? Colors: Chili and Fennel. Hungry anyone?

After much (sometimes heated ) debate with my darling, opinionated daughter, I now do not know whether this is orange or red. Some of you may remember the "iceberg" fiasco with the all season's cotton. I guess sometimes my eye is opinionated and sees what it wants to see. Bethany is now calling this the Christmas tree sweater. I think it is more orange. I was going for a warm, pumpkiny feel, as this would probably fit said baby in the fall. Pumpkin season. But with christmas not far off. I digress. So, I headed over to a site that would tell me the name of the yarn, not just the number. Color number 207, according to this source, is called Chili. Color number 301 is named Fennel. Chili. Not orange. And not red. Must we settle on orange red (as opposed to red orange! That would be admitting defeat! :)

What do you think? Orange? Or red?
Child in the HOOD sweater!

So far,I really enjoy working with mission falls cotton, red or orange.

Hug your Earth!
? Happy Earth Day!? Hug a tree. Oran animal. Or me.

Me? I have to attend a friend's funeral today. Could there be anything worse? So, ladies (or men, for that matter), hug your husbands today and send up a prayer that they are with you. I certainly will.

Thank you all for "taking my side! " :) It really does look like orange. Or rather, golden gate bridge! And yes, Greta, it really is yummy to knit with as well as to look at. YOu must get some! I am not fond of cotton yarn as a rule, but I love this stuff!
Thank you all for the good thoughts. I know I can count on you for those! Yesterday was the wake and today the funeral. It's raining. Typical! I have been asked by my friend's wife to read a poem. I will try to post it here later, it is so beautiful. I need to find strenghth to get through it all.Visit me @ http://sandysknitting.blog-city.com/

"In a red world, it would be orange. In an orange world, it would be red,"she said, cryptically.

I get no christmas vibe from the combination with the green, therefore it's orange.julia [julia@farwellclay.com]

Hugs out to you today. Funerals sure do make you take stock, hugh? Even vicariously - I'll be thinking of you today. Chili, red, orange - whatever - it's PERFECT with the blue, grey, fennel! How cute for a little boy. You've got some eye, adapting that very girly photo to a baby boy version! I love that.Mary Beth [irwinmb@sbcglobal.net]

Hugs to you, Missy.
That looks orange to me, but then again, my monitor makes the fennel look gray. I think it will look great, red or orange!Dava [davamunn@rcn.com]
