04.21.2004 :: Hungry?
? Soda bread, anyone?
Sometimes when I go to the grocery store, I find interesting things that I cannot pass up no matter the cost. This was one of them. For the price I paid, this particular Hurley could have come into my kitchen and baked it fresh. Okay, it wasn't that expensive, but you get my drift. I just couldn't resist. Makes great toast!
I have seen this on other's blogs. Looked fun, thought I'd try it. (Taken from Princess Knits)
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the sentence in your journal with these instructions.
"Oddly, you can't be too clean seemed to be the moral of the story."
This is from a book called, Sticks and Scones by Diane Mott Davidson. Very good light book, if you are looking for one. A murder mystery whose main character is a mystery solving caterer. The book always includes some great recipes, some of which I have made and are delish.
KNitting? sure. I knit some more on my everyotherday cardigan. But you dont' want to see another inch.
I guess the theme of today is food. Breakfast, anyone?

Oh - someone else who reads Davidson! I'm currently listening to "Sticks and Scones" as I'm finishing up my Everday Cardi. Your cardi looks great. I'm so pleased with the fit of the cardi. I want to make another. By the way - I'll take a slice of the bread :)lillium [rsbelcher@mindspring.com]

I've read all the DMD books and they are a fun read - Goldy is a riot! Guess I better flip to page 23 in my Mary Higgins Clark LOL - here it tis:
He belonged in a world where people bought only the things they absolutely needed, paying for them with credit cards and then making only the smallest monthly payment they could get away with.

Would that feed a family of five? It is quarter to six and I haven't started dinner yet. I can just see their faces "And tonight we will be having slices of Hurley Bread and water."Mary Beth [irwinmb@sbcglobal.net]
