06.16.2004 :: How much is that dogwood in the window?
In celebration of my new and much improved blog, and as a thank you to you, the faithful reader, Sandysknitting is having it's first Blog Contest! Yippee! For this contest, all you have to do is email me your name, with "blog contest" in the subject. sanhurl@comcast.net You could also include your blog address too, so I could visit you. And, needless to say, pledge your undying love to me, your favorite blog mistress. That's all I ask. Undying love and your name.* What could be easier? This is up for grabs!
2 skeins of Lorna's Laces, colorway, Mother Lode
Mother Lode! The name alone is enough to crack you up! Anyway, this mother lode was purchased with the enabling help of the 2 greatest Threadbears around. Actually, I have 2 of the exact same color for myself. We can make matching socks! :) Let's see. Every contest must have an end, no? Winner pulled June 30th!
I looked out my window yesterday and was surprised to see this
Dogwood out my window
Bethany got this tree when it was a little twig from school for arbor day when she was in 5th grade. We planted it to the back of our house as a personal protest to our tree hating neighbor. I was going to show him! Of course, the years that the neighbor lived there, the "tree" stood about a foot tall! Now it is soaring over our heads and has it's first blooms! The tree hater has long moved out, but the tree stands in silent protest to tree haters everywhere!
* reader does not actually have to pledge undying love. But it does get you brownie points!

Oh SHUT UP. I am too far north for dogwoods, and I'm too jealous. You better give me extra brownie points for that. but I will send you a love note anyway. Your intrepid fun-blog trouper, Norma

Ohhh, that dogwood blossom is making me just a teensy bit homesick for when I lived in PA -- there are a ton of dogwoods on campus at Penn State, and I fell in love with them! Don't see 'em much here in TX -- if we did they probably would bloom in January or something crazy like that.

I love the yarn, and I love the pretty dogwood flower - the official tree/flower of Beautiful British Columbia. I wonder too ~ who could hate trees? What a weirdo!
If I say nice things about you and pledge my undying love can I just have the brownnies ~ without the points?

I can't believe the dogwood is just now blooming (the official tree of NC, I believe!). Ours blooms in March or April!
I am sending an email! :)

It seems that SOME people can't follow directions....teehee. (I just sent you MY entry via email). What kind of person hates trees, I ask?

Your dogwood is so pretty. They are rare here in Utah but when I see one I jump out of the car and run to see it's beautiful blossoms. What a nice treat to see from your window.
PS...sent you a love note.

Oh, that dogwood is beautiful. Is your backyard protected from wind and too much sun? I've been told I don't have a good place in my yarn for such a wonderful tree....
Hey baby, count me in on the contest. I can suck up with the best of 'em. Heeehee!

The dogwood is lovely and makes me yearn for my old digs in Virginia, who's state flower is the dogwood! Who on earth could be crabby enough to hate trees???
The Childhood sweater is adorable!! LOVE the colors, totally NOT Christmas-y!
I'm in for the "mother lode" too!! Where's your email addy?
PS - I *love* you, Sandy :)
