08.31.2004 :: Birthday, the extended version!
Some days, you just gotta love the mailman! First, I opened this, from King's Pottery
I wish I had a wish jar!
See? How wishes do come true? I love this sheepy jar. And inside was this. Oh, my first honest to gosh wish.
Can you read it? Okay, in case there is someone who has vision as bad as mine is as of late. You know who you are. It says, "My wish for you is to have many happy years in the fiber arts! " Gosh! so appropriate too! Some people may wish for world peace and heck! Who doesn't want that? But fibery goodness. There is something to wish about.
NOW ACCEPTING WISHES!
But wait! There's more!
Guilty as charged!
Nuts for knitting coffee mug. Although in my case, it will be a tea mug. What a perfect gift from the best Australian friend I have! Nothing RANDOM about it! (I will not mention that she is the only Aussie friend I have....but she's still the BEST!) Thank you from the bottom of my tea mug, Donna! (she got a new washer too! )
Look inside!
What knitter can have enough stitch markers?
Such a beautiful color! They match my blog! Thank you, Mate! You have made my birthday extra special!
All this and knitting too??
Hard to believe, isn't it?
One side done on Tasha!
To answer a couple of comment questions, since I have been bad at that. Where CAN I get a couple more hours for each day, eh?
Ei asked (HI EI!) if there was not cables on Tasha and how was I able to knit them in the dark. Conversation ensued on how wonderfully talented a knitter I must be. Um....no? That's not how it went? Details, details! hee! Never fear, Ei and Norma, my long lost pea, I cannot knit cables in the dark. Yet. The sides of Tasha are nothing but knit. And purl. THAT I can do in the dark. But sometimes I get surprised by something that happened along the way. Surprises are good, are they not?
By the way, tasha is being knit in Rowan denim, colorway Memphis, for the curious of mind.
Is that it? I believe I am done for today.

wow, those socks are amazing....
and that's the cutest little sheepy jar--would be neat to store a few DPNs in there (You could weigh it down with pennies if it's too light)
hope I get to meet your tasha in person at rhinebeck!

PHEW! I was trolling blogs and suddenly I decided I had to come back here and re-read that and make sure you had not called me your long-lost PEE. Glad to see you spelled it right. LMAO in VT.

Thanks Sandy for setting me straight! I feel better now. Love the mug and the stitch markers. Where can your readers get one...a mug that is? ;-)

How is the Denim, and maybe more importantly, how are your needles?! I love the look of the denim but people's blue bamboo needles have turned me off of it. I was wondering if Addis would work better? Or if the blue can come off the needles? I don't really want to buy a pair of needles that I can only use for one project.

Very nice Tasha...you are making me want to seam my tasha up and use her! We had a falling out a while ago...maybe I will patch it up and seam her up!
Knitting in the dark...sound like an 80's song! ;)

Yay! It arrived in one piece! I was worried the mail people would drop it into the bottom of a big mail bag under big, heavy parcels. :)
Happy (belated) birthday, Sandy!
