09.17.2004 :: So...
Okay, I have a problem. It's true. For the past two days, I have been grouchy as all get out. For no apparent reason. Not just your average grumpy. I'm talking Raging Lunatic Bad Mood Negative, Hate Everything, Dark Cloud covering my head, Bitchy, Extremely tired, Fire Breathing Grump-ola kind of mood. It's ugly, I'm telling you.
So, what am I going to do about it? I"m going to have pizza for dinner, throw away the paper plates and march myself upstairs to dive into bed, pull the covers over my head and not emerge until the Real Sandy Shows Her Face. And I'm talking the nice, cheerful, upbeat, optimistic face of Sandy. Not this one.
Knitting? Yah, yah, sure.

The babies have gone away to college... the menopause "change change change" has come (Did you get to Boston to see the musical?? It is great! Almost p--d my pants I laughed so much!) The day-light is getting less and less... and the cat threw-up on my pile of yarn...
Yup - a good day for a nap!

The last few weeks of September and the whole month of October are always terribly
depressed times for me,way beyond your average case of PMS! It's like hurricane season and the fluctuating barometer plays havoc with my harmones and mood and I live in the Midwest! Sounds like I'm not the only one who experiences this, Ladies is there a pattern here?

Me too! Something in the air. Too many negative ions. Or positive ones. Or whatever. Pizza and bed sound good. Tea and dark chocolate. ....

I know what the problem is: You ran out of Krispy Kremes. I can't help but noticing that that woman up there looks awful ....um curmudgeonly. God, I hate it that I can't use that word anymore without an.....you know,..... association. A whole good part of my vocabulary SHOT. And I had to resort to getting my thesaurus out the other night to use a different word. here it is: cantankerous. Hope I made you giggle, you mean, cranky old thing, you.

Poor Sandy! I understand! For a second I thought you were going to say you were taking the pizza to bed! LOL Not a bad idea, though... It must be the time of year. I have been rather cross myself, with no reason to be!! Hope you are feeling better Saturday!! I hope the weather is more fall-ish around here. It remains hot and humid. Enough already! I always feel energized once the season changes to Autumn.

Go for it, Sandy. Indulge yourself, it's a form of balance.

So it's not just me, you've found a way to put into words exactly how I feel today also. Here I thought I was the only one...I find the best way to deal with it is to go to bed early and wake up the next day. Often a good night's sleep will help. Hang in there...

Well we love ya both - the grumpy Sandy and the Happy Sandy. Ying-Yang. Life is a bowl of cherries, and not. Hang in.

I hear ya Sandy. A big hug from me is coming your way. Enjoy that pizza, have a good snooze, and be good to yourself.

Join the club, Sandy! I thought for a second you were describing me (I know, I'm soooo self-absorbed). Glad to know I'm not the only one who wants to just disappear....

Oh my gosh, I have been the SAME WAY! Honest. Though I can think of a lot of reasons why....our washer broke down and we have to buy a new one, my son had three potty accidents today, I had to take all three kids to the dentist yesterday, the list goes on....is it a full moon or something?

My sympathies. The only cure I know is some kind of extended nice experience. The mind, like the body, usually can't maintain two states at once. Same principle as a cold shower.(P.S. "Spa" experiences are good.) :-) Best wishes.
