11.01.2004 :: Productive Monday
We had 7 trick or treaters last night and I bought 30 full sized bars for the little darlings. Minus the various taste testing during the day, you do the math at how many candy bars we harbor in this house. All fugitives from the calorie police.
I got mittens
Now that I am the owner of the world's warmest mittens, the temperature soared into the warm 60's yesterday.
Specifics:
Yarn: Cascade 200
Fluff: Llama roving from Midnight Llamas, a vendor at Rhinebeck
needle size: US4 & US6
Warmth factor: Off the charts
Pattern: Thrum mitten pattern
Go ahead, make some! You know you want to!
More finished stuff! or don't stop reading yet.....
Treasure Bag by Mountain Colors
Specifics:
pattern: Treasure Pouch
Yarn: Mountain Colors Mountain Goat 1 skein
You can find both at: http://www.threadbearfiberarts.com/
Needle size: US 8
Finishing touch: Drapery cord and tassles. No respecting treasure bag would be caught without it's tassles.
This is a gift for a friend. I hope she likes it!
Come on over, I've got candy..

I love the thrums! I'm doing them too, in Cascade 220. Did you have to adjust the pattern at all, or did you knit it as written?

Make sure you put some candy in the gift bag! I've got tons left over, not to mention what they brought home! Candy overload!

Love your pumpkins - too bad only 7 kiddies showed up. We had a few more this year than the last several years. We're all reeling from sugar hangovers around here too.

I collect a candy tax on the haul the girls get. This, together with eating the leftovers, means that I am almost ill. The thrummed mittens make me feel better.

I put all our candy in the garbage this morning...not one kid...
LOVE the bag and the mittens, too. I can imagine someone who wouldn't love it!

Take your candy and . . . ! We bought extra bags because we were warned that we would get TONS of kids. Guess what? Now we've got TONS of candy. Boo humbug.

cute, cute CUTE treasure pouch. Wouldn't that be a lovely gift presentation? I'll pass on the candy. I am having a near-sugar-coma myself right now. I bought candy to give a special package to the little girl next door, then shut out the lights and ate the rest myself.

Nice job on the mittens Sandy. They do look warm and toasty. The treasure pouch is adorable.

Sandy!!! I can't believe it was you all along. What a totally great Secret Pal you have been. And yes I really love that little bag. My husband was thrilled to discover the treats inside too.
I have to go write you a big huge thank you email now. You're tops!
