11.11.2004 :: It Grows!
Your gentle reassurance was indeed correct. The Inishmore pattern has become a tad more easier. Not easy. Not set in my memory. But I"m up to a stunning speed of 3 rows in one hour! Yes, I know. Such lightening speed. I'd better be careful or I may just set myself on fire!
Take a peek at it's growth spurt.
Inishmore, from Fisherman's Sweaters knit in Cascade 220, color Rainier Heather
The lessons I've learned:
~Stitch Markers. Leftover lesson from The Charlotte's web. I don't need to be hit over the head twice. Well, sometimes I do. They are invaluable between each chart. Easy Peasy checking on myself. Did I drop a stitch? Add one? I can count only sections now instead of the whole scillion stitches on the needle. Yes. Scillion. What can I say? I'm not a petite person!
~A Magnetic Board to keep my place. If you don't have one, you should run to get one. Go ahead. I'll wait.
*whistling, or trying (I can't whistle. True story)
Back? This simple tool saves all the fumbling during the pesky glancing at chart, glancing at knitting.
Anything to make my knitting life easier.

Wow, Inishmore looks terrific! I'm still laughing about the "craptastic" comment. ;0D

Yes, what size needles? That is SO beautiful. SO.
I can't whistle either! I love the magnetic board idea. Must get me one.

I know your pain - when I was working on my veil, it was about 4 rows an hour (and every other row was just a plain knit row!). Keep on it, every stitch counts!

I love that color of Cascade 220 and have written down the name for the future.
I also love magnetic boards and have the 12 x 18, 10 x 12, and a smaller one that is either 6 x 9 or 5 x 7. I couldn't do charts without them. Well, I probably would but there would be some foul language used.
I also love stitch markers and use them any chance I get. I have to admit that the fancy ones that I love to look at, I hardly use. I tend to mostly use those thin little blue or red ones.

Looks great. I love the color. The magnetic board is definately a lifesaver. I got mine at Michael's...but a long time ago.

OH, it's beautiful! And the color is great--it will look so good on you! Thanks for the tips. I'd never thought of a magnetic board. I'll have to put that on my Christmas wish list.
Have you gotten the fleece I sent? Sorry for the crummy packaging--I was in such a rush, and wanted to get it to you as soon as possible.

Three rows an hour - holy! I Guess I won't be doing that one for a while. I agree with you regarding the magnetic board. I upgraded to a huge one.

Holy cow! That to me falls into the category of pretty but painful knitting! But it does look very pretty.

Wow, that is gorgeous! Love the color and the pattern. :)

Oooh. That yarn is yummy.
And I can whistle (not well), but I can't snap my fingers. I've had so many people show me, and I can make the motion, I just can't make the *snap* It's almost embarassing. Okay, it is embarassing.

Knew you could do it. I just hope I remember all the helpful tips when it comes time to do something. I have a list typed in my computer, maybe I need to print it out and look at it before starting each project? What was the mitten decision?
Oh, pop-ups still here. At least it only asked me if I wanted to lose weight.

Oh gosh, Sandy, that's just gorgeous! I love those magnetic boards too, but also have found that a post-it note can work in a pinch :)

Beautiful, Sandy! Really, really, really! I just finished the cuff on Na Cragna and was about to impulsively jump into the pattern, but thanks to you I am going to pace myself, get markers, photo-copy pattern, etc...PS - just curious - what size needles are you using?

Inishmore is looking great! And I love the color (yes, I'm a purple fanatic, lol) I have also become a stitch marker follower...never use to be, but that may explain why most of the things I knitted in the past ended up in the frog pond (I have a very steep "frustration curve")
