11.22.2004 :: Musings of a monday

This has to be my favorite week of the year! Turkey week! Short work week combined with lots of cooking and family time makes me a happy person. Most of the time. If I plan it right, I can remain relatively stress free. Believe it or not. These are the good times. I try not to let peeling potatoes get to me, you know?
Now, if only someone would come and clean my house for me, life would be perfect!
We had a movie weekend. Rented Shrek 2. Loved it as much as the first. We re-watched the Santa Clause and then watched The Santa Clause 2. It's good to get the Christmas cheer to begin. You'd think I would have knit alot during movie time. You'd think. One thing is for sure, we need a DVD player. We always watched DVD's on the playstation II but since that has gone to college with Derek, we are left dvdless. I hope Santa is listening when I say I NEED one. NEED!
Okay, not Need. But close!
And speaking of need. Do I need THIS?
I think I may!
Fig Update:
Thank you for showing so much compassion for Fig the cat's little incident. I don't know what it is that frightened him so much, the cat's got his tongue! (so obvious, but I couldn't resist!) Yesterday he went out for about 4 1/2 minutes and came slinking in. So, the fear is still with him. He has calmed down inside though, thank goodness. For the first day and a half, he was a bundle of nerves. It seems he is going to be fine.
More to be thankful about.

Set up a litter box inside and try to keep him in. Something or someone was chasing him. Too many dangers outdoors. Take him out only when supervised. He'll get used to being indoors. Whatever it was it is likely to catch (up) with him. Keep him in.

Gosh darn bloglines didn't update you so I just read about your fascinating grandparent's immigrant story and saw you as a three year old - was a treasure to have that slide! I like how you are leaning a bit on grandma and how she has your hand in hers and all her attention is on you - how sweet!!

Yes! You need Grover! :)
Personally, I'm a Cookie Monster type. I loved Shrek 2 - "Don't be such a Drama King"

You've inspired me to rent Shrek 2. My kids have seen it and loved it, but I have not. I *do* knit while watching movies...hence my loud "YES!" whenever one of the kids wants to go to Blockbuster. Check out my new blog at www.curiousgeorgeknits@typepad.com. Have a good day!

I'll help with the cooking, but cleaning is not my forte, I'm afraid. yes, I definitely think you need Grover!!! We just got a DVD player about a month and a half ago. Well, actually we bought it last summer but just got it hooked up when Abigail brought her boyfriend home for October break. How-big LOSERS are we??? Pretty big.

Well, thankfully, Thanksgiving is long over here and only the long slog to Christmas remains. I sort of wish they were closer together though...maybe I could only clean my house once?
Tell you what, you clean my house and I'll clean yours. Your dirt and clutter has to be more interesting than mine.
(Careful about accepting. Have you seen the back of my house?)
