01.23.2005 :: Definition of blizzard? more knitting time!

Well. Is it ever snowing! I can't remember seeing this much snow. The news tells me that we've had about 29 inches here. It's hard to tell because we've had such huge gusts of wind that is drifting the snow.
This is what I see out my front door.

In the foreground is a pile of snow. That's the top step. What stairs? See my car? The lump with blue sticking out? Does anyone see tires on my car? Or a hood for that matter. Yeah, me neither!
I have to admit that there is something so peaceful about snowstorms. The world is quiet and soft with the snow swirling outside. The real joy comes in knowing that the snow fall and the wind blows but I am warm and safe inside my home. The joy ends when the shoveling begins, of course.
Let it snow, indeed!

We got a little more than a foot of snow here in Wisconsin, but that isn't so bad. We're used to that. The drifting was a little more impressive. But nothing like what you got! I'm glad you mentioned checking the dryer vent, I didn't think of that!
Um, last summer you mentioned there wouldn't be a time limit for joining your Charlotte knit along. Is that still true? I have a ton of projects going, and Charlotte is among them. I'm trying to stay focused on my current projects to avoid getting distracted and buying more yarn... {grin}

Sigh. I'm so jealous. We (in Nebraska) had snow for a bit, but it was so bitterly cold, that I couldn't go sledding (sob), and now it warmed up (it's supposed to be 50 tomorrow!) and it's all gone.

That's it--I'm moving in with you!

This is what I love about New England. Of course I can only say this from the comfort of my home with my cup of tea and knitting beside me. We're doing it all over, too bad we didn't plan a big sleepover! Next time.

snow, schmow!
One day I'll actually see some. And touch some. And build a snowman.
And then whine that it's too cold and I'm going inside ;)

Well, here I am up here in northern Vermont with just a dusting. Course, the plow man came along and plowed anyway, just so he could add $35 to his monthly bill. Don't get me started. He salted the driveway that day it was 40 degrees out. We went out and said, "What.are.you.DOING!?" He said, "Just trying to keep ahead of it." Yeah, right, and we're happy to just go out there and throw dollar bills on the driveway for no reason. What a jerk. I could have knit an extra sweater that day for what he charged to salt when there was no need. He's just feeling gypped all the way around, I guess, coz we've had no snow. What a kooky year. Grumble, grumble.

Don't throw out your backs shoveling! No need to join me on that one. I'll just sit up here and be a martyr all by myself.

I love the thought of you all cozied up inside knitting while the white stuff piles up outside. No such excuse here in sunny California.

That's the most I've heard! Must be some coastal effect. Cuddle up, stay in, stay warm, knit, knit, knit!

Wow, do you live in an igloo? Check outside and make sure there are no penguins about. Keep warm!

Wait!! Don't you have enough snow yet? Can't you share just an inch or two? *sniff*!!

It's RAINING here, can you believe it? Your snow pictures are so beautiful, and I'm envious. I've said it before, and I'll say it again--you're living my life, girlfriend!

HUGS! xxooxxoo

I thought for sure that was a piece of porch furniture covered in snow - and not the actual depth of snow from the porch floor!

That's just crazy snow! But fun!

stay warm.

:)

Hey! It looks the same way outside my windows, too! Amazing, isn't it?

Wow! Can't believe all the snow. Just wish we would just get a few flakes down South. Looks like a very good knitting day.
