02.16.2005 :: Tasha Bag, finished!

DSC04255.JPG
Tasha bag is finished and being used! I love love this bag. It makes me feel slightly hippie-ish. Oh, I'm sorry, are my roots showing? I technically was not a hippie, but a child growing up in the 60's and 70's can't help but adopt some of the fashion of the time.
What fashion, you might be remembering? Yeah, well, clogs and bell bottom jeans. Long straight hair parted in the middle. And long, floppy purses.
Peace out!
Close up anyone?

Did I mention the love? Yes, I believe I did.
Specifics:
Pattern can be found at knitty, designed by the wonderous Leigh! (Hi Leigh!)
Yarn: Rowan denim, colorway Memphis or Tennessee, I'm not certain now. Memory is fading quickly!
Love quotient: Off the chart!
This is a fun bag to knit. The rowan denim did not thrill me but I am more than thrilled at the outcome. If you look closely in the closeup picture, you can see some of the ends that are weaved in sprang loose a bit in it's final washing. I need to tend to that because it appears to have sprung a hole. I know better though.
Sneeze~
My head is still sick with a headcold. And I'll take even more, thank you Fate. Bethany is leaving on Friday for a 2 week trip to Germany and the last thing she needs is to get this nasty cold that Andy and I share. I have washed my hands so much they are raw. In classic motherly form, I will take on MORE cold and sickness just so my kid can go on a plane healthy and happy.
Hear that POWERS THAT BE? Bring it on! I can take it! I am a MOTHER.
Mitten winner!
There appears to be a winner of the koigu latvian mittens.
Pamela R. Come on down! Please leave a message here so I can email you.
So much excitement for one day. I may have to go lie down.

LOVE Tasha - I have some of that Denim waiting to be a sweater for TJ - I might just have to swipe it for myself ;) Selfish Mommy!

I love Tasha. I might need to knit that one soon.

I also love your Koigu mittens. What colors did you use? How much yarn did it take? Other yarn suggestions? I'm still practicing my Latvian mitten techniques but want to knit a pair before it gets too warm to wear them.

I made Tasha when it first came out, and my daughter snatched it up! I'm sure it exists somewhere, probably at a friend's house! I made it with denim cotton, a bit stretchy, but cute!

Tasha! It looks great, Sandy! And I love that it makes you feel hippy-ish. I designed it to be sort of a bohemian/hippy/coffee house poseur sort of thing.

Feel better soon :)

I love your tasha! I use mine so much...and you are right..it's so hippie! It needs a cell phone pocket though. I should have added one!

Really though, you will love this bag for a long time! I love mine!

Oh crap -- I mean, Tasha looks GREAT!! That's a WIP that I forgot about, stashed around here somewhere...

I'm remembering pantsuits, platform shoes, and hotpants! Yikes!

Get better!

Love the bag. I may have to make one for myself, as a matter of fact. What a nice summer bag! Do you usually LAY it on the table, or hang it on the peg? Hmmm, hmmm, the things we ponder. Keep that cold to yourself -- you're right. Bethany doesn't need it.

The straps even looks really nice. You're such a good mommy :)

I'm a sucker for anything blue and I love cables. Tasha came out wonderfully!

Get well soon and I'll keep my fingers crossed for Bethany to NOT get sick.
