02.18.2005 :: Trip to Germany begins today
Bethany is leaving today for a 2 week trip to Nuremburg, Germany.
If you are up for the praying thing, can you say a quick one for safe flights? And if you are not, send some good vibes up to the skies.
I am a wreck.
She is worse!

The question is:
Does she know how to get to the Opal factory?

You know, if this is too much for you guys, I could be ready to leave in hours.
;-)
Gute Reise!

Ah Sandy, she'll be fine, and so will you! I have a niece who has been over there since September, attending 13th grade(!?), and she is and has been fine! I have finally learned to put a lid on worry. I still worry, but not as often or obsessively. I didn't want to become like my older sister who would cry at the first snowflake in anticipation of bad roads! Good vibes headed your way!

Okay Mom...focus, think only of the positive. What a Great opportunity this is. So many people have never done anything like this. How lucky she is and how lucky you are that your child will get to go, I am jealous! Wow! your gonna be free as a bird for two weeks ...enjoy! Positive, Positive!

Sandy, I flew for the first time in almost 4 years in December. I worried myself sick over it and it was fine. Don't make yourself crazy with the worry- there are much better ways to spend your time. She's going to have a great experience.

Live large Bethany. Try to remember everything.
Sandy, I'm very qualified to tell you that this is a good decision and a safe one. I am the worlds most neurotic, overprotective, paranoid, freak mother...and my kid leaves in a couple of weeks.

Bon Voyage, Bethany! Just focus on the feeling of accomplishment she will have, not to mention the life-long memories! She's a great kid - she'll do fine. Now Mom, you better keep busy the next two weeks!

Sandy, Bethany will be okay. Remember she is at the inconquerable stage of her life. She will be remembered in my prayers daily for her safety and you also "to stop worrying and have peace while she is gone". :) I say this only because my 15 yr old is preparing for a summer exchange trip to Germany and Belgium and I know exactly where you are coming from with your feelings.
