02.23.2005 :: Yarn, wonderful Yarn!
I promise, it's okay to come in. No lecture series today. Only yarny happiness!
A while back I received a prize from the Knitters Without Borders, how lucky am I?
I have to show you this beautiful handspun.
Of course, the day that I got it I had to knit some with it. But what?
Silly question, don't you think?
I think that these mittens will be perfect for this yarn. I have not knit anymore on them yet as I have to concentrate on other things first. What a joy homespun yarn is to work with. The color, the feel, knowing that someone spun it brings joy beyond belief. I have a good feeling about this yarn!
Spring is welcomed here!
With the forecast of another snowstorm, everyone is getting antsy for spring, even Fig. When the sidewalk finally thawed out, he found the only available particles of dirt had himself a good roll.
Got dirt? (Click for big, dirt covered Fig)

Just dropping a line to say hi! School is busy and I don't get a lot of time for blogs (reading or writing!) but I think of you knitsmiths often. Hope you enjoy your couple weeks without the kids.
Earlier this semester one student died here, and another at the state college about an hour from here. I think kids aren't really aware that death is a possibile consequence of drinking too much. I don't know how you teach them that, but I'm sure Derek understands it now. I'm glad he's safe now. :)
Miss you! Say hi to everyone the next time you're there!

Jeez. You have a bit going on over at the Hurley house. I just left for a couple days, I thought. Hope Derek is all better and kicking himself for causing his mother such worry. Hope Bethany is having to much fun to think about how much her mother is worrying.

Ha! I was wondering why you were knitting mittens with jack o'lanterns on them, until I brought up my magnifier and got a better look-see!

Oooh, perfect pattern for that beautiful yarn. Where did you get the pattern?

Doing the yarn justice, clearly.
I no longer believe in spring.
