03.18.2005 :: Pardon me, my neuroses are showing!

Did anyone else have a moment of "MY GOD, WHAT IF SHE DOES NOT LIKE THE SOCKAPALOOZA SOCKS?" or is it only me?
Go check out Neysa at her brand new blog. She's wearing some mountain colors socks made by moi. You've seen them here. Now see them there!
She likes them! She likes them! The giving feels so good.
So.
I am hard at work on the last sleeve on the Peace fleece everyday cardigan. It is close to being done and I am so excited I can taste it! (that was always my mother's favorite saying and I've never used it before)
Beware the Ziploc on St. Patrick's day!
That's what my fortune should have read for yesterday, had I indeed had a fortune. But I did not. Let's take it from the ending this time.
The aftermath:

Are you saying, what is that?
Look closer!

Yup. That's the burner from my stove. As my corned beef dinner was cooking merrily on the stovetop, little did I know, the plastic ziploc bowl was resting on the burner that I forgot to shut off. Oops! Now the burner resides, plastic coated in the snow. What a mess! I don't think it's salvagable. And the stink? Nothing compares!
Poor bowl!

Let's file this one under: Live and Learn. And don't breath the fumes!
Happy Birthday, Baby!
Happy Birthday to the love of my life! Happy Birthday, Andy!

Sandy - girl - we live parallel lives. I was boiling water on the stove and couldn't believe what a bad smell was coming off of the burner. I chalked it up to leftover cauliflower from the previous day (shocking, me cooking vegetables, not so shocking, me not cleaning the stove after cooking). After taking the cooked pasta off of the stove, I heard a loud pop and then realized that it was my car keys that were under the coil during the cooking. My remote entry fob had completely melted and the battery had blown out of it.

lovely, huh!!

missed you and your stories and your laugh this weekend!

Sounds like a good sock trade all around. Happy Birthday Andy!

I had the - What if they don't fit her?! anxiety. Luckily they fit her and she loves them.

So sorry about the burning plastic! I have done that many a time. Maybe that could be an argument on why I need a personal chef.

Sockapalooza anxiety? Yep, I have it . . . I'm terrified that my sock pal won't like the socks I sent to her! Though if she does despise them, I will never know, 'cause she has no blog (I don't even have an email address for her). Still, I'm a little scared.

Dear Traffic Director, Sandy,

Thanks for all the publicity. I am giggling in delight with each new comment.

MWAH! [That was a kiss on the hand flung all the way to Massachusetts.]

Is it OK to wear my new socks two days in a row? Not saying that I did that or anything. Just checking, you know, for a friend.

*Twilight Zone* That plastic bowl must have smelled similar to my burned heating pad a month or so ago! It took a long time for the burned smell to get out of my microwave, and I sometimes have "smell hallucinations" of it.
Happy Birthday to your Andy !

Happy Birthday Andy...March b-days are the best.
How cool your socks look so good on Neysa! She has a great blog. I haven't heard that my socks arrived nor have a received anything yet, so you're lucky!
I hate when I do stuff like burn plastic on the stove. Drat with that!

Posted by: margene on 03.18.2005 AT 11:54 AM

Whoa, the burning Ziploc bowl could have been a lot worse.... Glad that it wasn't.

Posted by: Colleen on 03.18.2005 AT 10:01 AM

Oh no, not the Ziploc Bowl. It had a short but full life, giving it's all for the cause.

Happy Day to your Guy, now is it Steek or teh Cable Guy?

Okay, as Norma's personal fire fighter, let me wanr that plastic melts ;)

It happens. at least it was only the burner and not the whole house. But that is when I get to go out and play... Some how I am thinking a lesson on what we do is in order for a posting soon.

I love the socks youmade. They are cute.

How could she not love those gorgeous socks! And no, you're not neurotic. (or at least if you are then I am too ;) )Everytime I mail out a package to anyone I'm on pins and needles until I hear if they liked it.

Oh kid, I've done that to plastic bowls before. And nope, I wasn't able to salvage the burner. I knew just what it was when I saw the picture--ha!
