06.23.2005 :: Sweet!

Hersheys miniatures magically turned into cool par-tay fun! (Thanks, Barb!) (And, Thanks, Bethany for the endless glue action!)

My eyes are sleepy, my feet are sore, my assorted salads are made and chilling. As I was, you know, tasting all the foods being made, I had a thought that grazing ones way through an evening was probably not the best use of nutrition. So, I got myself out a yogurt smoothie. Strawberry. Yum. Delicious AND nutritious. I drink a large sized swig, wipe my smoothie mustache, emiting an "AHHHHHHH!", enjoying every taste buds worth. I continue my dicing, slicing, chopping, and such. I reach for the pepper mill and it happens. I hit the smoothie and it spills. Not onto the floor. No. That would have been bad enough. It fell into the pulled out drawer. The drawer holding all the wraps. Aluminum foil, plastic wrap, various ziploc type bags. Covered. In. Yogurt. Smoothie.
RATS.
AND.
It was the last smoothie in the house.
CRAPOLA.
Okay, that drawer was in serious need of a cleaning anyway, but just not on the party-eve.
The rest of the evening, I keep pulling the drawer open to gaze at it's cleanedness. (made up word)
I could go for a smoothie right now.

It's amazing what we'll do to make ourselves clean;-)
Those candy bars are so cute! What a wonderful idea. You are one awesome daughter-in-law.

You even went for the personalized chocolates, you're too good. I was afraid the smoothie spilled into a salad, that would have been bad. I'm sure everything will come together and it'll be amazing :)

I'm feelin' the love goin' into this par-tay! Lucky guests of honor to have such a great hostess! Have fun! (did you find the pattern - will still send?)

Ah, that is about the only way things get clean around here, after a disaster.

Have fun at the party!

Have a great time at the party - you've done an awesome job pulling it together!

ha ha ha
first, i am in LOVE with those smoothies... i so love the light ones. :) second: I am the first person to drop something all over myself, the house, the boy, etc before company arrives. Usually about 10 secs before they hit the doorbell. So, with the wild party tonight, I will know where all the ruckus is tonight (if it's a good party- i'll hear it in melrose!). Tell Elizabeth/Bethany (more ha ha ha) that she did a fab job on the little chocolates!

When the party starts, your Mother-In-Law is going to think you are the only smoothie in the house. Great ideas--it will be awesome!

Sandy, you are pulling this all together like a champ! I'm going for a breakfast smoothie RIGHT NOW! Then I have to get my sorry butt to work for a long deposition with two (or at least one) poopy people. (or they could surprise me and be nice today - ya never know. I drank motherwort tea, so maybe I'll keep away the wykked sperytis.)

You're a little trooper! Why is it that whenever you spill things it's the biggest mess ever? Little spillages just don't ever happen in my house, they're major floods.

What a cool idea! I love the chocolates. You are going to feel so good on Sunday as the party starts. Even if someone has to nudge you in the ribs a bit to wake you up:)
