07.27.2005 :: Melting in Massachusetts!

Can a person actually melt from awful heat and humidity? I felt as if it were about to happen last night while trying to sleep. Now, I'm cranky. And sweaty. And I do not appreciate it. The good news is that it is supposed to cool off later today. I can make it until then. I think.

Do not underestimate the power of the quick knit. I started a Sophie Bag using Manos yarn. Finished. I love that. Immediate gratification.
Knitting finished:

Some of the color came off into the water. No prob, though. Just sayin'.

The handle is my favorite part. I love the way the twisted handle looks knit up with the multi colored yarn. It's the little things...
Reef update:
There is none. I did not pick it up. Go ahead. Call me chicken if you must. You would be right.
Charlotte?
Seems there is a lot of spider pictures lately in blogland. Coincidentally, there are a lot of spiders hanging out on my front porch. Must be an increased need for the spiders. Their webs are amazing, are they not?

One of these days I'll have to knit up a Sophie. Yours is lovely, love the purples.

We had that horrid weather all week last week. Today it's mild and cool... supposed to get in to the low 50s tonight! I hope that this weather comes your way much sooner than later. :)

Great looking Sophie! Beautiful colors of Manos.

When that cool front comes through watch out. It was in the high 90's here and horrible humidity yesterday (and for many days previously) and today it's 67 and a mite chilly LOL

I'm miffed can't get CBS so you know what I'm missing? Danged TV station and their upgrades!!!!

Ack - the webs are truly spectacular - but they always give me the creepies at the same time!

Heh, AND Claudia has central air. I would never poke that fun at you.

Talk about your delicate lace-great photo. Let me help with Reef, it can't be that bad.

Felted Manos is SO MUCH FUN! All that boucle-looking texture.

Don't melt to death. That wouldn't be good. It's pouring up here, and only 67 degrees, but it feels hotter because of the humidity. Hopefully this will cool things down a bit.

Me wonders: Are all these spiders trying to tell us something? Is this going to be a winter to end all winters or something? Or am I mixing up my old wives' tales?

Claudia's ruthless. Ruthless. :-D

Great spider web pic! Thx for your notes, Sandy. One of these days we'll get around to talking.

Chicken.

Bawk, bawkbawkbawkbawk....

Great picture, great web, gross spider. I give them a wide berth and let them do their Shelob thing.

Sophie turned out well. And yes, it IS possible to melt to death. I am currently engaged in doing just that as we speak. Where is winter when I need it??

Sophie looks amazing, definitely one of my favorite patterns so far. I've got a couple Charlottes in my window as well, complete with 5 egg sacs. Very industrious ladies! :)

Even the weatherman is impressed with this heat- the hottest day in 3 years I just heard.

Great looking Sophie!! I've never felted with Manos before, but seeing your bag has really got me thinking. . .

I can't stop thinking about dew point, thanks to you. I even googled tropical dewpoint and there you were - on the first page!

Weather.com has my town at a dp of 77. This is craziness!

Hope it cools down for you soon. Loving Sophie!
