07.29.2005 :: Spin me round and round, baby!
I DID IT!
I spun this small amount on a WHEEL! (Thanks to the generosity of Kerstin for the loaner!) (Is it really generosity of a spinner, or a desire to suck more in? A requirement in the spinners handbook or something? I guess I'll never know!:) (Also much thanks to the generosity of an Idaho sheep and to Kim, my Idaho friend who hand dyed this wonderous wool destined to be my first. Thanks, Kim! And sheepy!)
I am thrilled beyond reason! I have spent many an hour sitting at this wheel. I even brought it along on the Claudia day. I think all the wonderful instruction worked!
WHOOHOO!
Where will this lead me? What could it all mean? Will I be the same Sandy when the dust settles?
I wonder.....
~~~~~~~
You say tag sale, I say yard sale!
I hate them too. Desperately. All the stuff will be placed out in my yard tonight, covered with tarps, waiting for the salers. If you want to steal stuff, come late tonight.
Here's hoping I can make it.
~~~~~~~~~~
p.s.
I can spin!
p.p.s.
Oh, GOODY, bloglines is ignoring me. Again.
sigh.

I would definitely say that Kerstin loaning you the wheel is a testament to her generosity. How lucky are you to have such great friends?!?

One thing you can do to make that yard sale pass a little quicker. Spin to your hearts content during the sale and then take all of the proceeds to your nearest fiber enabler... :-)) Happy Spinning!!

And after last week's conversation I thought that you and I would be the lone hold outs. Hrmph! Will you knit again?

Mmmm, spinning......... mmmmmmmmm, it's on my mind....... but I only have a drop spindle so far and no chances for a loaner and a dh who saw the price of wheels and immediately (after he saw my look) said "nope.... not buying you one of those". Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, spinngin....
Hope all is well - good luck with the yard sale.

That's very cool! I know the bug will hit me too someday. Congrats!

it masquerades as being 'generosity of a spinner' but is actually the fiber equivalent of the borg..."resistance is futile you WILL be assimilated" ;-)
i know this to be true from personal experience--i have a borrowed wheel and a 2 gallon ziplock bag of fresh-off-the-alpaca fleece looking at me at the moment, and i can hear the tempting whisper even now...'come spin me...you know you want to!'

Oooh, Sandy-spun yarn. Here's to a successful yard sale so you can feed your addiction...Speaking of which, I see you have a number of games, do you have "Trouble?" I'll buy it if you do!

Yahhhooo!!! Congratulations, sweetie!! That's IDAHO wool on that wheel, folks! Isn't that the coolest? Wait until I tell Sharyn that some of her wool is being spun up on the East Coast! :)
I'm so proud of you, woman! You're on your way--there's no stopping you now!
