10.23.2005 :: tune ( I know, this has nothing to do with nothing, but I misspelled the word TIME and I thought I'd leave it as the title!)
When I was newly married (21 years ago for those who are trying to peg my age bracket) I had visions of evenings full of love, conversation, dinner to rival gourmet restaurants, Me-time as well as exercise time. I specifically imagined myself jogging. Oh, my sides hurt with the mirth that brings me now. Me?? Jogging? I just didn't know myself well enough yet. I had high hopes. But the point is that I envisioned hour after hour of contented family time to fill in.
I wonder now where those hours go to. I have a certain amount of time in a day but it seems to rush by with only a fraction of my mental to-do list getting done. I think that if, by some miracle of time shift happened and I was given an extra hour every day, it would somehow get jam packed full in a split second.
So, I started a knitalong. And I do not regret it, but I should have had a plan in place to deal with the knitalong business. I still do not. Have a plan. And me being html challenged that I am, I have a desperate help call out to my guru. So, for now, I will list the participants here.

Sandy, can I be a giant pain the rear-end ask you to change my blog link, please? You see, I'm a moron. and I put my OLD blog address.
It isn't you and it isn't your blog because today, I gave someone on the phone a postal code that I haven't had for YEARS. And then I proceeded to write a cheque, dating it 2004.
Apparently I am living in the past.
If I wake up tomorrow and put on gauchos, I'm going to fling myself out a window.
The correct address is http://billi-jean.com/blog/
Thanks!

Sandy, sign me up please! I want a handmade mitten or glove for every day of the week this winter, so I better get cracking!
Posted by: Sherry W on 10.25.2005 AT 12:43 AM
Sandy I want to join!
My plan is to knit mittens for all the children before the snow flies. So far I have made one....out of the 6 that I have to do.
I'm not to happy with the thumb join so I am sure that will just be a practice mitten.
Right now my 4 year old uses it as a hot glove for taking things out of her play kitchen!

Just for clarification, the chicken wing is crocheted. I haven't got to the knitted mittens yet.
I'm still trying to figure out how to make my chicken wing knitted.
Sorry, I should have posted it in my blog. My bad.

Great list of participants! I'm checking my mailbox every hour on the hour to see if the mitten kit I ordered has arrived yet . . .
Posted by: Wendy on 10.24.2005 AT 08:13 AM
Oh, Sandy, I had to laugh when I read about the jogging -- I remember watching the Boston Marathon while recovering from a broken leg and thinking, "Next year I will be running that marathon!" I really did think I'd recover from my injury and take up running, hahahahaha. Still, it's nice to be optimistic and look forward to the future, rather than feeling like you haven't accomplished anything at all, so keep dreaming of jogging or whatever else inspires you.
Oh, and I bought needles for my mittens yesterday, so the game is on -- will I start them before I finish one of my current WIP's?
Posted by: Susan on 10.24.2005 AT 08:10 AM
Holy Mitten-Party, Batman! That list must have taken you 12 days to write up! Each one with a personalized description, and all those links!? Buy this woman a martini, will someone? Or maybe a cup of hot cocoa would be more appropriate for warm hands, no?
I have my singles all spun up in the red Portland wool, waiting for more from the exhausted Jen, as soon as she unpacks her truck, she tells me! Then I will be making my handspun, handknit mittens.
Posted by: Norma on 10.24.2005 AT 08:09 AM
Add me too Sandy!
Posted by: Karen on 10.24.2005 AT 07:14 AM
Add me Sandy. I can always use some warm hands at bunny feeding time! :)
Posted by: Helen on 10.24.2005 AT 06:51 AM
Hi Sandy!
Is it too late to join? I have been hooked on knitting up Kate Gilbert's Gift Mittens pattern. I have done 2 pairs so far as presents, and hope to do more. Thanks for coming up with a great idea!
