12.26.2005 :: day after
Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, they are all sleeping in.
~
I know, I'm no Clement Moore, that's for sure!
A wonderful day was had by all here, I hope the same for you. Was there wool under your tree? I have a great gift certificate to Halcyon Yarn to spend and I'm thinking Malabrigo! What do you think?
I thought of you, dear blog reader, right during my Christmas dinner yesterday. It's true. As I prepared the ham for the oven (and by "prepare", I mean, unwrapped and put in oven) I saw the tag. Yes, the ham tag. And I thought "I'm blogging this!"
And so I am.
PRACTICALLY SERVES ITSELF! Now THAT is a ham! It was delicious but it did not jump onto the platter itself. I forgive it!
A story in pictures of a cat and his scratching post!
A happy ending for all. And for all a nap is in order. And a girls hockey game! Let's hope we see less bench warming and more hockey!

My husband of 37+ yrs, cooked and served that same kind of ham. It was very good. He has been cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for us for about 25+yrs. now. Happy New Year

Self-serving ham...what will they think of next?
What a happy kitty!

Glad to hear that fun was had by all. :) As the absentee relative, I get exempted from cooking, but a ham that practically serves itself still sounds like a great idea!

My cat just told me she wanted a super scratcher since she saw your cat had one.

How did Fig know what was in the package? Did he shake it? Open it up and rewrap it? Smart Cat or Psychic?

Oh, OOPS! The Ham That Practically Serves Itself sound like a good children's book. Perhaps we should write it!

Yeah, the last place I want to be on Boxing Day is boxed in at the mall or wherever. I've actually been telling my daughter all day what a bad idea it is to go shopping today. Lucky for me, she's moving slowly too. She's at the gym now, and there's a bad storm on the roads, so the planned dinner and movie may have to wait. Fingers crossed for ice-playing time!

Yeah, I've had two naps already today, and I am still trying to finish a knitting gift.........

We're moving pretty slow this morning, too! It's great to just relax and look at all the stuff today. I have new knitting books. Yippee!

Well, personally I'm glad you're not Clement Moore. I mean com'on....Clement's Knitting? That just doesn't sound right.
Let's hear it for self-serving ham! Oh yeah!
The Malabrigo is amazing. What wonderful colors--how will you choose??
Hope you're having a great week off! xoxox
