01.25.2006 :: King Midas has nothing on me!

DSC05984.JPG
Snowy morning, spring like afternoon. Who can figure out this New England weather?
And like the weather, who can figure out my knitting? I am really taking up room in the knitter continuum. Wasting needle space. Hogging knitting karma. All for naught.
Every single thing I knit needs to be ripped. It's too big. It's too small. It's not right. It's right and I hate it. ON and ON and FREAKING ON!
My charmed knitting life seems a bit challenged.
Am I up for it?

Wow, snow... Well, since we have had 3 days of winter...our average temp has been in the low- to mid-70s...

ok, i got brave. i ordered folk mittens from interweave press's hurt book sale. and don't worry, some days, you're the needle, other days you're the frog

I'm in the same boat as you. The sound of Ripping has my teeth set on edge. I thought sacrificing time and much energy was enough....Geez...

Snow was sure pretty this morning, though.

Of course you can do it! It's just . . . a challenge, is all . . . The weather here in NJ has been bizarre, too.

You can do it. Just put your mind to it and....whatever comes next? Just let it go, and if it was really meant to be it will come back to you. Wait, that's that love thing, isn't it? Okay, I have no idea what platitude should be inserted here. How about, just do it?

You think you've got problems? I've got that horrible Nordic mitten hanging over my head. Blech.

Excuse me for a minute: are you not queen of the mittens? What about mittens? You think mittens are like falling off a log?
Get back up there, missy. Rip what needs be and be proud!

Times like these I cuddle a bunny. It doesn't help my knitting but I feel better. I dedicate the next bunny snuggle to you and your knitting!

Ugh. I hate those days, the days where I *know* I'd better not even try to create something. That's about the only time I turn on my TV - if I watch something mind-numbing long enough, and my creativity comes back in force.

I promise your mojo will return. It's there. I've cured people before, I can do it again. Ask Jen of JenLa. It's the yarn - I swear it.

Hmm, will ripping out everything be enough of a sacrifice? Or will you have to break some dpns to appease her?

Posted by: Chris on 01.25.2006 AT 05:10 PM

Oh, big hugs to you, dear. How very frustrating. Fix yourself a nice cup of tea and relax, then approach your knitting as the soul-soothing pasttime it should be.

If that doesn't work, put it on the driveway and back up over it. It works, really.

(Just remove your expensive needles first...)

And here I expected Margene to step in with her gentle reminders that it's all about the process! What does she offer?

"better make a sacrifice to the knitting goddess"!

*laugh*

It's about the same weather here, too. Mother Nature is having hot flashes or something (you can tell what's on my mind).
You had better make a sacrifice to the knitting goddess fast so she'll bring back your mojo!
