01.30.2006 :: Light Red Scarf finished!

The Light Red Scarf for the Red Scarf Project is done! Kaput. Finished.

Much thanks goes out to my financial scarf partner, TheresaC.
The lovely Pink, er...light red yarn ran out right at a crucial edging time leaving a dilemma in it's wake. I hemmed, I hawed and finally did this:

Multicolor Fringe. Not light red, but coordinating colors nonetheless. I hope the photo conveys it to be pleasing. I have to admit to being unsure about it until Bethany all of a sudden exclaimed "I Love the Fringe! That makes the scarf!"
Well, blow me over with coordinating fringe. She has never previously made known a knitting opinion. I figure if a Teen says it's Okay, then it's Okay. So, I leave it alone!

What is the stitch pattern in the scarf - if you posted it previously I missed it - I love it

Love your scarf! I learned about the Red Scarf Project from your blog (thank you) and was inspired to make one myself. I used some lovely red yarn from the stash of my dear friend, Dorothy, who passed away last year. I think she would be pleased.

I am glad that you are thinking about me and all, but honestly, you don't HAVE to do it!

Don't ever mess with positive teen feedback.

Looks great! I love the whole "light red" idea. ;-))

Believe it or not we made butternut squash for the first time last week. I never knew I liked it until now. Better late than never,

Love the fringe! And the roast chicken. True, true and not related.

Sandy? ok, not only have I smelled the sweet, chocolately air of Heaven, I mean Hershey, PA and dilligently shopped the outlet stores of North Conway, NH... but I'M FROM NEW BRUNSWICK!

(Having a total stalker moment. Sorry)

My pleasure!

And yummy, butternut squash.

Posted by: Teresa C on 01.30.2006 AT 09:15 PM

Hey! I'm been to North Conway...there's a train there, right?

Posted by: stephanie on 01.30.2006 AT 06:21 PM

Oh, it's awesome, I love the contrasting fringe. I'm not a teenager anymore, so I hope my opinion counts :).

Posted by: grumperina on 01.30.2006 AT 05:47 PM

The fringe is brilliant. Bethany is right. :)

Oh, and did you have to bring up Days of Our Lives? I used to watch it with my mother all the time...I don't watch TV any more, but she keeps me up to date with the goings-on when I call home. It's almost embarrassing.

That light red scarf is FAB. It will be loved. For sure.

Posted by: Norma on 01.30.2006 AT 05:20 PM

The scarf looks fabulous! And, isn't the tv show *2* and a half men? Or am I missing something? Oh, and I watched Days for years. I actually went to high school with Kristian Alfonso. Slick, eh?

Posted by: Carole on 01.30.2006 AT 05:07 PM

Love the scarf. The fringe does "make it". I wonder if you can help me? I am planning a 100th birthday party for my Grandmother and remember the personalized candy bar wrappers from your in-laws party. Can you tell me how to make them or where to order? The party is in April so I hope I have enough time. Thanks!
