02.02.2006 :: Did you see your shadow today?

First I saw it here. Then here. And here. Original idea of Grace's Poppies. I had to find a poem. Frantic search ensued and I think this fits the bill, even though it's song lyrics. Poetic, soul touching lyrics.

Bloggers Silent Poetry Reading:

Imagine, by John Lennon

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Oh, thank you. Lovely choice, and lovely to read this again. It plays in my head, of course, as I read.

Not the only one.

That's my favorite Lennon song of all time... Thanks!

I've always said my favorite songwriter is a poet - so it counts. Wonderful choice.

How appropriate. Especially given some of the things being said today. Love ya, girlfriend!
