02.21.2006 :: Smile when you say that!

DSC06106.JPG
Now that I've named it, I can't get it out of my mind. Tuesday is Grumpalong day. All day long, I kept thinking, " Yup, I feel like ripping your head off:grumpalong day indeed!"
With that thought in mind, I give you a smiley picture. Made by Mother Nature during our last snow storm on the upside down Christmas Tree Stand that still sits on the porch. I know. Kind of like the Christmas tree stands last stand, isn't it?
My grump of the day: my elbows hurt. And that makes me grumpy.
What's your grump?

Yay! Comments are working! I was so tickled by this picture but I couldn't say so. :)

Man! Sorry I missed the grumpalong!
Yesterday would have been good for it!
Sandy, will you take a look at my pattern again and suggest a handle. I was thinking a conjoined icord (knit on double point)might work okay, but short, long, draw-string or both handle and drawstring? What are your thoughts? :)

Day-late grump: I have that nagging feeling that I've forgotten something -really- important, but I haven't the foggiest what it might be. Oh, and my work computer seems to be on the verge of going casters-up. Grump.

well my grump happened this morning. i stopped at a green light to let an old man cross in the cross walk. and a bitch driving a jaguar honked at me. poor old man, hearing the honk, turned around and went back to the curb. i flipped the woman the bird. but that still didn't help.

My grump is that I don't check the blogs after I leave work (unless it's the weekend) and I've missed Grumpalong Day twice!
Grump grump grump!

I see I'm not the only one who thought, "dude, that's one damned happy toilet seat..."

Cute smiley face.

My grump? My hips and back hurt and Aunt Flo is visiting.

I hope your Wednesday is better than your Tuesday. :)

Posted by: Samantha on 02.22.2006 AT 11:08 AM

Who can be grumpy with that cute, all-natural smiley face?? (grin)

My grump wouls be being stuck at my desk waiting for a blessed computer build to finish so i can go home and start my measly two day half term ( all the other schools on the island got a whole week!)

My grump? That I missed grumpalong Tuesday. Always a day late around here.

He reminds me of those Little Mr. books from the 70s - Little Mr. Happy!

I don't really have a grump, but thinking about Grumpalong Tuesday will always make me chuckle now when I'm wrestling to get through each Tuesday. :)

Um - too many to count, but I'll list the top ones!

Sheboss goes to Jamaica leaving me here to run the office during a snow/ice festival

Aunt Flo returns after a serveral month absence (not preggers) and brings cramps from hell w/ her

My emergency supply of chocolate is depleted

and I need a new car

I wasn't feeling grumpy yesterday until I got home and realized that today is the day that the best neighbor in the world is moving away. That's making me super-grumpy... and sad.

I think that snowy picture looks like a tulip, and that made me forget my grump. I'll try to remember it.

Bird poo all down my newly cleaned patio door. I think an emu must have flown overhead.

Posted by: Tracy on 02.22.2006 AT 08:06 AM

I thought it was a toilet seat, too!

when i first saw that picture i thought of a toilet seat lol!

My grump: I had my day all nicely planned out, then realized that I had a two-hour reference desk shift I hadn't figured in. So I didn't get everything that needed done, done. And to make it even grumpier, this is the second Tuesday in a row that I've done this exact thing!!!! (Okay, I need to check next Tuesday's desk schedule....)

Oh, and I'm glad that you explained that the happy face was made by a Christmas tree stand. When I first looked at it, I thought it was a toilet seat!

Posted by: janna on 02.22.2006 AT 12:01 AM

Someone (I don't know who, and that makes me even more grumpy) keeps touching a computer (which runs important automated scripts) that no one but me and the guy who's in Switzerland is supposed to touch.

It's either that or the monitor has learned to turn itself on.

Posted by: Zardra on 02.21.2006 AT 10:37 PM

Oh, okay, I'll play. My grump is that I can't just quit my job and drive my new car all the time, to visit my friends and knit and spin. Which would, of course, make me GRUMPY, because I really pretty much get grumpy when I drive. So there you have it -- exponential grumpy.

Posted by: Norma on 02.21.2006 AT 10:27 PM

my grump? my boys won't go to sleep, and it's 45 minutes past their bedtime, and their first day back to school is tomorrow, and i KNOW it's going to be hell getting them up and going.

on the other hand, i thought the smiley face was a toilet seat, lol.

My grump is that you didn't make it up for SPA weekend... what's up with that?? Next year, promise okay??!!

Posted by: Kate on 02.21.2006 AT 10:12 PM

My grump is that, no matter how hard I try, I just can't you to smile on Grumpalong Tuesday. (Did that work?)
My grump: How may times do I have ot rip apart ONE FRIGGIN' mitten so it doesn't look like a knitted tube with a thyroid problem???
Ah, I feel better getting that off my chest.

Posted by: Dave Daniels on 02.21.2006 AT 10:12 PM

My grump was a dreadfully slow day at work, and a cold on the way. Day off tomorrow, though! Grumpalong day, makes me smile, too.

Posted by: Jane on 02.21.2006 AT 10:02 PM

That happy face is so cool. Mother nature has a way of making me smile, maybe even on Grumpalong day. Bah, it's raining here to day:(

Posted by: Barb on 02.21.2006 AT 10:01 PM

What a great picture! Hope your elbows feel better soon.

My grump is that the coffee shop managed to get dairy in my soy mocha earlier. Lactose intolerance HELL.

Posted by: Chris on 02.21.2006 AT 09:59 PM

My grump: the wood stove isn't drafting properly and smoke keeps getting in my eyes. It's giving me a headache and I'm grumpy!

Posted by: Carole on 02.21.2006 AT 09:58 PM

Grumpy day - I like that, I just reserve the right to have mine on the day that I need it. So I'll celebrate it then. Just thinking about it makes me happpy (sorry).
Maybe its due to the ton of garlic in my dinner.

Posted by: Robby on 02.21.2006 AT 09:47 PM

Traffic. There wasn't even much of it, but when I finally made my way home, I just wanted to be there, darn it.

Hope your elbows feel better soon.

Posted by: Faith on 02.21.2006 AT 09:35 PM

My grump: I'm tired beyond all comprehension, and I've just learned that IF I pay for tri-focals, it MIGHT be true that the focal length works when I drive AND when I use the computer AND when I'm reading. Maby. I hate my eyes.

And that was just the way the day started.
grump grump.

But your blog made me smile...
