02.28.2006 :: So anyway,

It is COLD outside lately! Shivering kind of cold. The kind where the car, er, pimpMoblie must be started at least 20 minutes in advance to get anywhere, making the neighbors happy about the continuous roaring sound. Tomorrow is the day it will (hopefully) be fixed. It certainly is a lesson in the shades of sound for all of us!
And dry? If you pass a pile of dust on the side of the road, it was me. Every last drop of moisture has been wicked out of my every pore leaving behind a flakier me. It's not pretty.

Hmm, this entry has now entered random territory. Sheep picture found on my camera from this summer's trip to the Red Apple Farm.
Random? Okay, may as well run with it~!
movie seen recently: Elizabethtown. You must see it. And in the spirit of the olympics, we watched Miracle. I remember living it. Jim Craig. Who didn't love him in 1980?
And finally, on this Tuesday that I could declare to be grumpy but I am NOT, I had a dream about Giada DeLaurentis last night. AND her mother. Who,in my dream was a very nice elderly Italian woman who looked a lot like my very nice elderly French grandmother used to look. (I do not in real life know what her mother looks like). It was a wonderful dream, complete with active tastebuds. Although the whole meal is fading in my memory now, one certain drink sticks with me. It was served in a wide, low glass. It was milk with a caramelly kind of sugary syrup on the bottom of the glass. Which was beautiful to look at. When I drank it, the layers suddenly started to mix together, in a bit of a volcanic fashion and the vanilla milky flavor was intense. I can almost taste it now.
Hmm. I was eating a meal in my sleep. Do those calories count?

Me again, just finished Elizabethtown. Wonderful! Thanks for the suggestion,

I have eating dreams, too, and am relieved when I wake up and realize that those calories were only in my dreams.

Amy Lu's dry skin remedy sounds yummy, but I'd be afraid of ants :-)

Adorable sheep pic. I love Giada (wish we get her over here). Her Italian Chicken Stew is one of our faves. I've even made it with rice instead of pasta. Nummy.
I posted a special sky pic just for you today.

Best dry skin fix:

Fill a small wide mouth jar with brown sugar. Add a skin friendly oil (apricot, grapeseed, etc.) mixed with a few drops of a nice smelling essential oil (like plumeria, lavendar, or citrus)until sugar is soaked.

Then keep said body scrub in the shower and use as needed! It's great! It's the only thing that takes care of my dry elbows. Afterwards the water beads up on my skin like a seal.

Nope - those are totally guilt free calories! Though I'm quite curious about your drink, as it sounds tasty.

As the current humidity level in NM is 10% I can ASSURE you that using body butter (not moisterizer) is the only way to go if you are feeling a little gatorish.

And I am glad to know that other people dream as vividly as I do!

Wow, I wish I dreamed like that!

No way do those calories count. I have Giada's cookbook. mmmm.... And her mom looks quite young. If you've seen Giada's sister their mom looks like her alot. Ok, so maybe I've watched the food channel too much.

Dry? Current humidity in Denver: 12%. I barely even notice any more - I just keep myself slathered in lotion and bath oil. But it does mean that when I block my knitting, it dries a lot faster. :)

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm that sounds good. It's dry here too - humidity is at 16%, and that's WITH a 30% chance of rain. I need to go get some Neutrogena body oil. Luxury in a plastic bottle. Yum.

Yum, those sound like wonderful calories and those are NEVER counted.

Time to break out the vat of lotion, eh?

You do sound much improved today, Sandy, despite the flaking away to nothingness (believe me, I have it too! Yarn keeps snagging on my lizardly hands. Awful.)

No, those calories definitely don't count! And days like these make me so, so grateful for my Volvo's heated seats.

I'm pretty sure I've never had such a wonderful sounding food dream!

Heh, I hate the sort of cold where you drop into your car seat and it doesn't yield at all. Brr. Ouch.

Your dream sounds delicious! Giada's mom is actually very young-looking, beautiful, and stylish. She was in her "giada's Italian Holiday" show, and I was struck by how they look more like sisters than mother-daughter.

Flaking off here too. Gross, huh? I felt my elbows yesterday and it was disgusting. Last night when I was falling asleep I thought, uh oh, tomorrow is Tuesday. I wonder if I'll be grumpy. So far, so good, though. Maybe the tide has turned?

Dreams like that are the best!! I love it when dreams are so vivid that the memory of them sticks with me for the entire day. And, no, those calories don't count. :)

Go with your PimpMobile to pick up Dave for lunch. And have dulce la leche when you're out. Now THAT should make for a day that is the opposite of grumpy. Unfortunately those calories would count, but it'd be worth it. And you'd have laughs and laughs and laughs, which burn calories.

So Elizabethtown and Miracle, hm? I should put those on my Blockbuster list?

Posted by: Norma on 02.28.2006 AT 08:34 AM

Nope, dream calories do NOT count, thank goodness.

How sweet is that sheep?? What a great photo!! xoxoxo

You know, as long as you are not Grumpy on this Tuesday, flakey is ok.
And that pile of dust? It could be me, too. It's amazing how DRY it can be.
But that rumblin', woman! We can hear that all the way down here. I thought it was a tank. Really. A tank. lol
