03.02.2006 :: It's all Jan's fault, really!

ps.jpeg

Jan. She encouraged me to join. Thanks, Jan. I feel an excitement growing about Project Spectrum. I have in the past been a miserable excuse for a knitalonger. I do have highter expectations for myself this time. (Yes, it's fair to note at this time that I am a more miserable excuse for a knitalong host, but that can be discussed at a later time! One complaint at a time!)
March is Pink/Red month. Do you know that I have not one drop of red in my stash? Okay, perhaps a half a drop combined with another color but no red. Interesting. No red in my wardrobe either. With the exception of the snowman sweatshirt Andy and Bethany got me for Christmas (which I hardley ever wear!) Do you think I have something against red? Is there a red prejudice hiding within?
With that in mind, here is my first up yarn:

Pink. This yarn means a lot to me. This yarn is handspun by Norma. Hand dyed by Helen. From the idea of Theresa. From the most favorite picture I've ever taken, sunset on the lake in Freedom, NH.

So, I guess this is my Normahelentheresafreedom yarn.
What am I making? In due time, my friend. In time.

A group effort if ever there was one. I hope things are better.

I'm so glad to decided to hop on board! Looks like you've made a good start with that gorgeous gifted yarn.
And the pink sky!!

Mmm...beautiful yarn infused with good knitterly vibes. Lucky girl! I can't wait to see what you make of it!

That's lovely stuff, that is. Glad to see you posted - I was getting worried that you'd fallen in a snowbank or something!

mittens... mittens... mittens... can there possibly be any question about it? ;-)

Maybe a hat too, or a keyhole scarf, if there's enough yarn for it?

Well, the yarn is gorgeous. The sunset takes my breath away. Well done.

Wow! That yarn came out really nice. Norma did a beautiful job on the spinning! So, what are you going to make with it?

Posted by: Helen on 03.03.2006 AT 08:34 AM

Very, very cool! I love the creative stimulus of Project Spectrum - has me looking at things a bit differently these days.

Oooooooh, I'm all verklempt. I can't WAIT to see. Holy crap. It's gonna be funny. This was my very, VERY FIRST WHEEL-SPUN yarn. It's almost embarrassing, while at the same time very special. Gauge should be, um, interesting. Sandy, how much will you hate me before it's over???? LOL

Posted by: Norma on 03.02.2006 AT 08:35 PM

Oohhh, that's SO special!!! I can't wait to see what you make from it!

It is great to have you in the group, Sandy! Thanks for posting that lovely pink yarn! ;)

Excellent! I've been wondering when you were going to knit something with that. And, do you need some red yarn? Cuz I've got loads!

I can't wait to see what this becomes. So purdy!
