03.20.2006 :: Tap, Tap..Anyone there?
I had quite the start today. I came home from work today and tried to check my blog and it was GONE. My heart skipped a beat as I pressed REFRESH. Gone. None. No Sandysknitting. My breathing got a bit shallow. I needed to put my head between my knees. Do we own a paper bag I can breathe into?
Here I was, moving smoothly through my day not knowing the horrible truth that was happening. My blog was gone.
The Horrors!
This was all due to a renewing of the sandysknitting domain, by the way. I went with the cheaper company. You know, you get what you pay for. What I hadn't figured was the 5 day wait did not include weekends. D'oh! My mistake!
The blog is back now. My heartrate has just settled down and there is no more hyperventilating. I think I'll be fine.
But. I do wonder if there is a new RSS feed because bloglines now tells me that I have NO subscribers. Hmm. Was it something I said?
:)
~~
This weekend was Andy's birthday. As a family, we surprised him with a Birthday Day. We took the T into Boston, made our way to Fenway Park and took the tour then out to eat. Here's some peeks into our wonderful day!
Fenway is undergoing construction, adding more seats to the small park! See the Green Monster? On the left?
This is one of my favorite pictures from the day. I know. I'm such a geek!
A fun time was had by all! But, boy! Was it cold!
Too bad there was no picture of the time I fell over a sign in the sidewalk saying, no doubt, "Caution" while taking this picture:
No picture, either of the fall I took on the subway car. That was a blast. Not TOO embarassing either!
But I did remember to look up!
Sincerely yours,
Grace

Glad you're back - I freaked a little when I got the No Page Here screen.
Your day looks like fun.
Oh, and I posted a sky photo for you.

Hey there - your favourite - geek - picture of Fenway. If that is your style, check out the art at www.peterharris.ca
He is my son, and paints what he describes as 'urban or highway' architecture. He would love your favourite photo.

If your blog disappears, do you disappear too?
If a tree falls in the forest....
;-)

Great pictures of Fenway. Was the tour fun? That might be a good idea for my husband's birthday...
Glad you're back!

Hey there, Gracie! SO glad that you're back, sunshine! Between no-comment Norma and blogless Sandy, I've been frettin' something fierce over here...!
Such beautiful photos--Fenway Park! How cool is that? You guys are such a cute family. Sigh. xoxo

I'm glad to see you back! I missed you yesterday and was NOT AMUSED to find no Sandy's Knitting when I clicked on my link in Bloglines! Harrumph!

Some of us didn't even know you were gone - you're still showing up on by bloglines!
Posted by: Dorothy on 03.20.2006 AT 11:21 PM
Bloglines picked up your feed on my list.
Looks like you had a wonderful day at Fenway!!!
Posted by: Carrie on 03.20.2006 AT 10:36 PM
Uh, yeah, who do you think you are, Rock Chick? Just disappearing like that without so much as a, "See ya later, taters."
Hey, you were 1 1/2 black from my house! As you enter Fenway Park, just look to your right. See that McDonald's? I'm a block beyond that. So close and, yet, so far. Hope you had a nice tour. You took some nice pics. (I live here, but haven't been inside since the day man landed on the moon. Really.)
Happy b'day to your boy.
And, glad you got your domain straightened out.

It HAS been a weird day--glad you're "back," and as always, beautiful sky you've got there!

Oh, YOU again? I thought you'd left without a forwarding address, and I said, "Good RIDDANCE!" At least that's what my blog said about you this morning; am I right? Should I call down the fire brigade and tell them there's no more emergency? Sandy can get through!!!! Her record check cleared! Yay!!!
Yup, none of us have any subscribers this afternoon. The First Day of Spring, which someone just reminded me of in my comments, has not been kind to us in Blogland, apparently. Can you believe I didn't know it was the 1st day of spring until someone just told me in my comments? I'm cut off from the whole world, were it not for my BLOG. You know. The one that DIDN'T go missing today. Not like YOURS. Oh, I am such a pain in the ass. I do know this. You don't need to tell me. Save the postage.
Welcome back! Hope you're laughing. Mwah!XOXO

(waves hand in the air) I'm a subscriber! Bloglines actually posted this as a (correctly) new entry. Amazing :-P

Lots of weird things in blogland today. You disappeared. Norma's not receiving emails. My post was not displaying a photo today (apparently), even though I could see it quite clearly. And everyone's lost their subscribers on Bloglines.
Glad to see you back, Sandy! The beginning of a turnaround, I hope?

We're still subscribed and we still love you, Sandy! :) Looks like a lovely trip into Boston (oh, wait, I suppose that was a bad pun, wans't it...).

Great photos of Fenway. How was the actual tour? Did you get to see cool behind the scenes stuff? Happy Birthday to Andy!
Posted by: Carole on 03.20.2006 AT 07:12 PM
I still see you in bloglines!
Posted by: pixie on 03.20.2006 AT 06:50 PM
I see you! Glad you got it all sorted.
I hope I have the same luck. (Server's been down since yesterday afternoon, with no sign of life yet. *sigh*)

Just so you know I received your update through my bloglines. Sandy I took a fall on the ice outside in the office parking lot, besides thinking omg that hurt like h*ll, I was praying no one was looking out their office window to witness my graceful *snort* fall.
Posted by: Michelle on 03.20.2006 AT 06:28 PM
It must be a bloglines problem. I have all my subscriptions and your post came right up, but it shows that none of us have any subscribers. I think it's their problem. So happy you are still here;-)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with no subscribers listed on Bloglines. Whew! I've had enough problems with Tripod messing up my blog and then having to move it yesterday and today.
I love the pictures of Fenway though!
Posted by: Helen on 03.20.2006 AT 06:23 PM
Ah, Fenway. I spent my wedding night at Fenway. ;-)
Glad you're back and all is well.
Posted by: Cara on 03.20.2006 AT 06:22 PM
I think it's to do with Bloglines outage yesterday-- all the blogs have no subscribers!!
I just switched mine over to wordpress, so I thought no one was resubscribing at first!
