03.22.2006 :: I knit because I can
New sock? Why, yes! Thank you! To be specific, this is the start of a conwy sock from Knitting on the Road. The yarn? I'm glad you asked. It is Socks that Rock! (can I get a rim shot with that please?) In the Marbles colorway. I have not lost my marbles. And I have the yarn to prove it! This yummy sock moment was brought to you (or more accurately: to ME) by the lovely, generous Cara. She sent the Socks that Rock yarn. Leaving me wondering..Did Cara actually buy every single STR colorway known to modern man? I think she did!
Cara = sock yarn goddess, eh? Thank you, Miss Cara! I am putting it to good use!
Have I ever mentioned how I love this pattern? Kudos to you if you remember how many socks I've made into Conwys.

It is a pattern that I could knit over and over and over again. Do you have one like that?

Ooooh, that is a nice looking sock. Margene and Susan (Knitting as Fast as I Can) gifted me with a skein of that color of STR. It looks nice in the skein, and I hadn't really thought about how it would look knitted. It's quite fetching. I think I've had enough of that Conwy pattern for the near future, though, so I'll try a different pattern. Hopefully, the color distribution will look as nice as yours, otherwise I'll be froggin and back to Conwy!

I've been eyeing the Conwy for a while now, and wouldn't have thought a multicolor yarn would look good with it. Definately inspiring me to rummage through the stash for some Lorna's or Koigu hiding in there.

Wow! It would not occur to me to use STR for Conwys, but they look so good. Now you have me thinking....
I'm most likely to knit a ribbed sock with short row heels and toes. I'm trying to venture. So I went with stockinette stitch with Short rows..... I have also knit the Fiber Trends Peak Experience more than once. I do need to stretch a little.

Still too new to sock knitting (I've made two pairs) to settle into a pattern.
That colorway is gorgeous! It's almost like...dare I say it...sunset colors. :)

Im knitting Conwy at the moment too! this pair is for my DH but I can see at least one pair for me in the future - it is such a lovley pattern to knit

Lovely colorway. Blue Moon's website shows 16 colorways, but I swear I've seen many more colorways posted on other blogs. Anybody know of a good source of STR other than Blue Moon?

Yes, I do have a couple of sock patterns I could knit over and over again. One is feather & fan and the other is the cable twisted rib socks that I just finished. But, Conwy is on my list to try.
