05.31.2006 :: Moss and ants and plants
Green Mountain Spinnery Moss basking in the May sunshine
I've been pretty much a monogamous knitter lately with the knitting pure and simple cardigan and you know what that means? Boring blog fodder. I cannot tell you how soothing this is to me. I guess I really don't have to sell YOU on the merits of knitting to soothe a tired sould, do I? No. I think you already know.
As I walk around the yard (blissfully aware that not one dog is barking it up right now and I'm enjoying every peaceful ear moment that I can), there is a lot going on in the bloom or soon to bloom department, even though I've had a moratorium on gardening for a couple of years now.
The Rhododendrums are starting to make an appearance. Welcome Rhodys!
The iris looks like it will bloom soon!
Columbine
Symbiosis of ant and peony
Make a wish!

Oh the Moss is so lovely I get monogamous about a project too and it does make for worrisome blogging. Post on, I'll keep reading!bbKathy bg

I love the "ant and peony" picture! Mom had a peony plant when I was a kid, and we always called it the "ant plant."

June is bustin' out all over! Monogamy is good -- fun to finish stuff.

The rhododendron is gorgeous. Ours are coming in late this year. I also love the purple iris and plant a bunch each year (well, not THIS YEAR due to the pelvis...) but usually.

Beautiful!

The purple rhododendrums are *fabulous*. I adore columbine, but live in too warm a climate for it. Poo. Yours is gorgeous. Peonys (peonies?) are something I've only seen in photos. Again the warm climate. Your bud shows promise. Now dandelion puffs like that I've seen in plenty. Aren't they fun? I love seeing all your flowers.

Love all the pictures. What an awesome job your camera does taking close-up pictures.

Wow, for someone raving about her weed garden, you're smokin' up some colorful stuff! Those flowers are gorgeous. I think we KNOW who's been growing the weeds this year, and she lives up north! (I DIDN'T say Mrs. Miller!!!!) Beautiful.
And I love the GMS yarns, I have a small stash going on that right now.
Glad to see you post!

Wow what amazing pictures, I'm speechless.

Dang, if Sandy has that much access to Norma's brain, I'm afraid what else might come out.
Soothing and lovely post. Makes me want to go outside and lay in the grass. However, I am in the desert, so it would take me hours of searching to find any grass.
And just think, the barking dogs in the neighborhood will soon become background noise, but they'll make it harder for burglars to case the neighborhood. (You can always tell when a dog's bark changes from "hey, I'm barking to make noise" to "HEY THERE'S A BIG PROBLEM HERE")

Wow, you stole my intended post. Stole it right out of my head, you did. :D
