06.19.2006 :: When the cows come home

Did you realize that I knit? I know. It's hard to believe, isn't it?

One sock is not a pair. But it IS something off the knitting needles. This is the conwy sock from Knitting on the Road in Socks that Rock, marbles colorway that was gifted to me by the wonderful Cara. You DO know that I love the conwy sock pattern, don't you? I could knit that pattern until the cows come home. Believe me, the cows won't be coming home any time soon. (It's an idiom, Norma's favorites!)
I plan to leave this as a lone sock for a while more. I need to start the trekking socks or I may be booted out of the trekalong.
Randomness in pictures:

Pink Peony. HUGE pink peony that has been assaulted just about every summer by Andy's weedwacker. It's a miracle that this plant lived to tell the tale. This year, it is rewarding us with super huge blossoms. Perhaps it likes to be cut down to the soil. Who am I to judge?

Bethany's dogwood tree. She brought this tree home from school in 5th grade for arbor day. We planted it in a pot for the summer, finally deciding upon the perfect spot. It is a happy dogwood with plenty of blooms. Not blooms, bracts. I learned this from knitbloggers. They are a smart bunch.
And finally, one more from graduation day. Harold the gnome got in on the act.

Harold is a good host.

Anyone that loves the heat and humidity is welcomed to my share. 2 days worth and I've already had it. Come on autumn!

Is that your dogwood blooming? Our's bloom in mid March! Wow what a difference!

Love the socks and I LOVE STR yarn.
However, the peony is just gorgeous. We cannot grow them here as it is too hot. Every time I see one I wish we could have one here. I have never seen one other than in a picture.

I love your Conwy sock! (And I love the pattern, too, minus the knitting through the back loop of the second stitch part!)

There's NO humidity in Utah. I'm just saying.

Beautiful sock and that peony is gorgeous! I'm with you I hate the humidity. I don't mind some warmth but the humid yuck!

Very nice sock! I love that color. Maybe I will try that pattern for my STR.

It's a lovely sock indeed!

Nice sock. I have a lot of pairs of socks that I've made lately--too bad none of them match each other. I just looked at the weather--high seventies tomorrow and high sixties next week, I can't wait. If we wanted this kind of weather we wouldn't live at the coast, would we?!

Hi Harold! I bet Harold would be a good sock model, too. You should try him.
Single socks are good, too. Believe me, I have several of 'em.

Now, what's this thing about cows???? LOL

YOU knit? Really? Me too! How cool is that, huh? AND we both have kitchen sinks with running water? We must be twins separated at birth or something.
Lovely sock.
