06.30.2006 :: Town meeting

Old business:

(IF you squint really hard and look slanty at this, you can see the crab and seahorse. You can!)
Creatures of the Reef shawl as left off last summer. I thought that I kept good track of where I had left off but some time spent with it the other night revealed 3 extra stitches in each of the repeats. Rats. No, rats aren't in the reef, are they? What's the water equivalent of a rat? Shrimp? OH, SHRIMP!
I stared at the lace charts for more hours than I'd care to admit to here, even among knitting fanatics like you. I cannot come up with WHY I happen to have 3 extra stitches per repeat.
SHRIMP!
More Old Business:

Aran Braid socks in Trekking yarn, picot edge. I'm not sure the picot edge makes a smooth enough transition to the cable, but it stays.
New Business:
I need help. There! I said it. That is not easy for me to do. I need help figuring out the web ring for the Saturday Skies. I have signed up, set up a homepage blog, Go ahead and see it here. In fact, see the ring thing on the bottom of that page? Go ahead and hit JOIN. Let's see if it works. If it doesn't, then I will be the one crying in the corner.
I am off from work for the next 4 days. Bring it on, weekend!

The shawl looks great--I'm impressed that it only grew three stitches in a year. :) And I love the colors in the sock.

I have just found your Saturday sky and would love to join in. Will put button on to blog. Nice to have found your blog.

It works, but I'm an idiot. I decided to move your button down to my webrings spot and of course I lost the ringcode the second I hit copy before pasting the code. Any chance of sending it to me again since I can't rejion with the same blog?
Thanks and sorry!

Ack - 3 sts. per repeat, I thought you meant across the row. Maybe just twisted yarnovers that got knit up? Persevere - it is worth it! It doesn't have to be perfect unless you want it to! Sock looks great. :-)

It worked for me! Have a great weekend :)

Sandy, thanks for the card and etc. That was very sweet of you.

Posted by: claudia on 06.30.2006 AT 03:49 PM

It looks like it worked. I haven't added the code to my blog yet though.

I think it worked! What color Trekking is that? I am too lazy to look at earlier postings. That will be a lovely shawl when it grows up. I have a shawl UFO somewhere...

I think it worked - I only started my blog two days ago so it's a bit hit and miss. It looks really tiny...but then I might have made a mistake :(
Hope you have a GREAT holiday weekend!

I joined. I've got it on my blog. I kept the button on my blog too just 'cause it looks so cool.

I have the Reef pattern too, and I'd probably better cast on soon. My 14yo daughter has been eyeing the laceweight I bought for it (shades of oceany greeny-blues). I distracted her with farm animal finger puppet patterns and a handful of balls KnitPicks Palette, but she's a fast knitter and that won't hold her for long. She's been accusing me of "hoarding the good stuff" in my stash (well, DUH!).

At least you were consistent all the way across the shawl! ;-)

Okay, I think I joined too. I stuck the code in my template anyway, we'll see...

I think that I've successfully signed up for the ring AND I see the crab and seahorse. Two for two! Do I get a gold star?

BTW - I love the sock.

My blog is now one of the three listed. Looks like it's working to me. Good job, Sandy! Hope you're not in the corner crying ;O)

I think I joined the ring. Nothing is on the list yet, but it might not happen right away. This is fun!
