08.21.2006 :: Not a snoop

I am a little embarrassed to show you this newly finished object.

It's a freakishly long catnip mouse made, with mistakes that were modifications to Miss Wendy's mousie pattern. Looking through the pages of cats enjoying their mice, it's clear that the mouse should be about 3 inches long. This one is at least 6 skinny inches. Is bigger always better?

Fig doesn't seem to mind that his catnip mouse is actually a Catnip Carrot!

I could not find a baby like Miss Cara did, so Mr. Bear got the modeling job. People frown upon other people asking strangers to borrow babies for pictures for blogs. Go figure.
When I was 10 years old, I peeked at my Christmas present to make my friend Debbie happy. She was a snooper. I was not. But we snooped. I was getting a Hammond Organ. I learned my lesson that day. I am not a snooper. It's always worth the wait!

Great carrot... er... mouse! I used to be a real snooper, but I have learned the benefit of waiting :0) Enjoy the anticipation!

Say, I knit one of those "catnip carrots" once, too! I guess we just have a very different row gauge than Wendy. ;-)

I can't believe you haven't succumbed to The Box yet. That shows real strength of character!

Love the catnip carrot! Maybe that will catch on among cat owning vegetarians...

Stay Strong!!! The anticipation is half the fun!!! I LOVE the pic of Fig "going in for the kill" with his knitted mouse!!!

I remain awed by your self-restraint.

and amused by Fig's fangs. He's going to teach that mouse who's boss.

My sister and I snooped in the dawn's early light one Christmas morning -- naturally, there weren't many surprises for us later that morning, but it does kind of make a nice memory for the two of us. I think we only did it that one time. Some lessons are more easily learned than others. ; )

Lucy's current favorite toy is a catnip carrot. :-)

I'm an only child. I have to snoop. It's part of the deal. :p

I love Fig's mouse. I think those area always better longer. Then the kitty can hug it and kick with the back legs at the same time.

My little brother & I found our Christmas gifts one year, and sneakily opened a few of them. It wound up being the worst Christmas ever!

Love the pink carrot---looks like Fig does, too. :)

When I was a kid, I'd snoop until I found *ONE* present that I knew ws for me, and then I'd stop. I loved knowing that single thing I was getting ahead of time, but wanted to be surprised by the rest. And apparently I was a pretty good actor, too, because my Mom had no clue I'd been doing this until I "confessed" a few years ago . . .

Can't wait to see what's in there!

We should call you Miss "Steel Magnolia". I just don't think I could play with the box and not open it.

Truth be told I've always been a little rebelious....hehehe

It's so hard not to snoop, but you're right. We only spoil it for ourselves.

At the risk of giving far too much insight as to how my mind works.... Mr. Bear looks... naughty.

And I think there is nothing wrong with a catnip carrot.

Oh, just admit it: You're a goody-two-shoes!!!

Hm... Fig seems to like his catnip toy. But I would have called it maybe something different than a carrot. Like a p*enis.

no snooping here either. i'm an anti-snooper. no snoop zone in my house.

i love your bear model

I snooped once, too. Learned my lesson. Never again. Never! It's so worth waiting. The surprise is fun, because it's still a surprise, and the giver gets their share of well-deserved joy, which they miss out on if the surprise isn't a surprise because it's been snooped.
