12.02.2006 :: Look at me, posting on a Saturday, the day notoriously known as "HARDLY ANY COMMENTS DAY" OR: When blogland rolls up it's sidewalks!

There was a big snowstorm this weekend. Not here

but here, in small Hurleyville that resides on top of our entertainment center:

Our weather continues to be a bit on the weird side with very warm and unseasonable temperatures up until last night. Today, the weather people are all talking about today's "COLD" weather but it's still 45 degrees. It is technically colder than it was, but still nice with the sun shining!
Socks that do indeed Rock!

pattern: Conwy Socks from Knitting on the Road
Yarn: Socks that rock, Marbles colorway that was gifted to me by the incredibly generous and wonderful Miss Cara. Love you, C!
Needle Size: US1
This is my favorite sock pattern for those of you who have forgotten. But then again, I have not met a Nancy Bush Pattern that I did NOT like!

Posted by: Karen on 12.05.2006 AT 10:27 AM

There is no such thing as a bad Nancy Bush pattern.

Posted by: Theresa on 12.04.2006 AT 05:10 PM

Those socks are really appealing....love the colors in them together....

Pretty socks!

Great colorway! I just finished a pair of socks with STR yarn, and that stuff like like buttah!

Lookit you--plenty of comments on a Saturday post. Looks like Hurleyville's sidewalk is unrolled and full of hustle & bustle. ;)

Posted by: Mary on 12.04.2006 AT 01:34 AM

I love Conwys! And yours are so cool. Lerve 'em up!

Posted by: Teresa C on 12.03.2006 AT 08:52 PM

You knit the nicest Conwy's!

Posted by: Mary Beth on 12.03.2006 AT 03:03 PM

Very cool socks, Sandy! You're right about Nancy Bush. Love her! LOVE!

I also want to know whether that's the light or medium weight yarn. I've only ever tried the light, but everyone else seems to be using the medium these days.

With a title like that, I had to comment. ;)

Posted by: Andrea on 12.03.2006 AT 01:46 PM

ciao from Rome! I prefer chrochet, is faster even if the results of knitting are better

Posted by: abcdefeg on 12.03.2006 AT 01:37 PM

My sky was that exact same shade of blue yesterday! What a coincidence! Or maybe not that big a coincidence, since we live pretty close to each other.

Posted by: Cheryl on 12.03.2006 AT 01:33 PM

Love Hurleyville!! How do I get there? Do I make a right at the couch or a left onto the carpet highway?

Posted by: inky on 12.03.2006 AT 01:11 PM

Love the tabletop snowstorm. :-) The socks are cute - I have that book and haven't yet made any socks from it... perhaps that will be the first one I try (after the Christmas knitting is done!)

Posted by: DebbieB on 12.03.2006 AT 12:22 PM

well, after a title like that, i just HAVE to comment. the STR is fabulous! and i like your little christmas village.

we haven't put up decorations yet, but will probably next weekend

It's officially Sunday on your end of the globe so I can comment now. I just love those colours.

I'm posting, of course, just to spite you :-)

Posted by: Melissa on 12.03.2006 AT 01:33 AM

What a deep blue sky!! Beautiful! And LOVE those socks!!

Posted by: Lynn on 12.03.2006 AT 12:40 AM

Love those Conwys!

Posted by: Chris on 12.02.2006 AT 11:51 PM

Those are some definately great rockin' socks. I really like the pattern too, have been eyeing that book for a while. I know what you mean about the weather and it makes me all frustrated and fidgety and ornery as I am a huge fan of snow. Snow Darn It!

Posted by: Tracey on 12.02.2006 AT 10:55 PM

The socks look beautiful!

Posted by: --Deb on 12.02.2006 AT 10:45 PM

At least it is snowing somewhere!

Beautiful socks, Sandy!

Posted by: meg on 12.02.2006 AT 10:35 PM

I love your little town. Socks too.

Posted by: Marcia on 12.02.2006 AT 09:53 PM

Beautiful, especially in that colourway! I need to do some Conwys.

Posted by: Laurie on 12.02.2006 AT 08:40 PM

I DO love Nancy's socks and those Conwys are beauties in that luscious yarn!

Posted by: Pat on 12.02.2006 AT 08:09 PM

Nice socks! No snow here either.

Posted by: Sydney on 12.02.2006 AT 05:46 PM

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the socks! I hate how no one posts on the weekend. I'm home recovering from a broken arm, so I get plenty of blog fix during the week, but come the weekend - nothing! AND, when there is nothing on TV. Hrumph! :)

Posted by: Stacey on 12.02.2006 AT 05:45 PM

Now I'm wondering how Hurleyville got so snowy. Coconut?

Posted by: claudia on 12.02.2006 AT 05:36 PM

Is it odd that as Christmas rolls around, I always look forward to seeing your little christmas display? Any new little people this year?

Posted by: Donna on 12.02.2006 AT 05:16 PM

those socks are fabulous!!!

Posted by: michele on 12.02.2006 AT 04:46 PM

Everytime I open KOTR I fall in love with that sock pattern. It looks wonderful with the STR. Now if only I can hold off until after the holidays, too many other items to be made.

Posted by: Jackie on 12.02.2006 AT 04:36 PM

LOVE the socks!

Posted by: Nannette on 12.02.2006 AT 04:33 PM

Nice socks all matchy and everything. I am sadly socksthatrockless, but on the other hand I have Fleece Artist which is also a great goodness.

Posted by: Paula on 12.02.2006 AT 04:29 PM

Oh the socks are lovely!
Hurleyville looks like a quaint place to live.

Posted by: Karen on 12.02.2006 AT 04:29 PM

Hey, it's Saturday and here I am. Reading and commenting. Okay, time to go baste the turkey.

Posted by: Carole on 12.02.2006 AT 03:29 PM

What fun socks! YAY!!! (I'm pretty sure I sent you lightweight and it might have been the old put up - 325 yds. I sent it a while back, no?)

Happy Saturday!

Posted by: Cara on 12.02.2006 AT 03:06 PM

Very pretty socks. I have not worked on a sock in awhile. I have ordered purple Cashmerino for Fetching. I have yet to try a pattern from my Nancy Bush book collection!

Posted by: Paula on 12.02.2006 AT 03:03 PM

I love a challenge. All you needed to do to get me to commment was to tell me that nobody comments on Saturday. Perverse, no?

Oh, love the socks too.

Posted by: Lee on 12.02.2006 AT 02:19 PM

I think I had your frost this morning. Don't tell Norma. She'll be jealous.

Posted by: Cookie on 12.02.2006 AT 02:02 PM

Yay for snow storms, even if they are fake on top of the entertainment center. And yay for Conwy socks. Someday I suppose I shall have to enter the Conwy Sisterhood and make a damn pair.

Grinchy.

Posted by: Norma on 12.02.2006 AT 02:01 PM

Love your socks. Was this the medium or light weight Socks That Rock? What was the yardage or number of skeins that you used? I'd like to try them. Thanks!
