12.07.2006 :: Roomie Scarf times 2
"Pardon me, are my ends showing?"
Another wintertime craptastic picture. Using a flash does nothing to show the cables in this Irish Hiking Scarf, Morehouse merino 3 ply, this time in blues. This is the second roomie scarf.
conversation with an annoying male coworker who's dauther is at the same college as my daughter.
me: Does your daughter like her roommate?
him: She did at first, but all that roommate likes to do all weekend long is knit. Who would want to hang around with someone who KNITS?
.......
..Um. ME?

Too funny! Knitters are so misunderstood...

My college roomate and I used to knit together!

Who wouldn't want a roomate who knit all the time! Love the scarf!

Love the cool blues! I wish I were there to give that soft merino a squeeze!

Ya know, if I had spent my weekends in college sitting around and knitting, I'd probably be in a better place today. Just sayin'.

Lovely scarf....if you make yourself weave in two ends every color change you will be such a happy person at the end of the project....of course....until you catch up I guess you'll have to do three. Try it....I promise....a smile at the finish line!

Cute scarf, sucky co-worker.
There are so many things wrong with what he said.
Seriously, I wish my roommate in college knit. 1) Maybe I would have learned earlier 2) How cool are you to know enough about what you like / don't like to knit in the face opportunities to drink your face off and do other really dumb things 3) my roommate liked to pick up scary street punks out at bars and bring them back to our room.
A knitter would have been WAY preferable.

Fabulous new scarf, dahling. And I'd want to hang out with her (and YOU!!!) too.

I had a roommate in college who knit (a lot), and I thought it was fabulous.

I would have poked him with a knitting needle. Well we can't all party all weekend and flunk out of school now can we.
I love how these scarves are turning out. So beautiful. I am still coveting the pink one. ;)

did you tell him that's what you did?
i love watching stupid people squirm when their stupidity is thrown back in their face.

You should have told him:
"Who would want to hang around a neanderthal?"
Posted by: Adam on 12.07.2006 AT 08:42 PM
Yay for the blue! Now what color is Bethany's going to be? :D
I hope you WRATHED all over that annoying male coworker!

Oooo, I hope you set him straight!! That scarf is gorgeous!

I have a feeling that I'll be the kid in college who knits all weekend... Very beautiful scarf.

Sounds like fun to me! I was so tickled when I went to the dentist and immediately got comments on my Trekking 100 socks and my Kureyon entrelac vest. It is cold here. I love that IHS pattern

Like father, like daughter I guess - both are lame-o.

Speechless.

I think I know why he's an annoying co-worker.
Posted by: Cookie on 12.07.2006 AT 05:18 PM
Obviously, annoying male coworker knows not a single spec of which he speaks and his daughter just hasn't been shown the way yet. Hella, we are TONS of FUN.
; )

So it's fair to say she loved the pink one so you're on to blue now? Or does she have 2 roomates?
Very annoying co-worker. Hopefully for the knitter roomate the daughter isn't as obnoxious.

Your scarf is beautiful. I've seen so many of these scarves in blogland, and yours is really beautiful.

Irish hiker looks good. Nice wool.
I had good roomies, but they aren't meant to be bosom buddies. Branch out...seek out new life, and new civilizations...boldly go...
Another chance to learn how to knit, blown.
