01.26.2007 :: like a chicken with it's head cut off ~One of my mother's favorite sayings (she has a million of them!)
Amaryllis cam, day 2:
Go, little amaryllis, go!
Today's frigid day was spent getting up way too early for work, picking up Bethany at school for a weekend home and all that is included in those things. My day was spent running from one end to the other and some shivering in between. Now? Andy's picking up some pizza for Friday dinner and I plan to plant my self on the couch.
Do you think I need to post a Do Not Disturb sign or is it implied?

Tell fambly you'll be off the couch when the amaryllis blooms. *snerk*

Love that you are watching the amaryills grow in winter. I never attempted this when I lived in Indiana. In Houston after they bloom we put them in the ground... but you can wait till spring. They will flourish and multiply like mad.

Of course do not disturb is implied. However, even a sign would do no good: Moms are exempted, don't cha know! Beck and call at all hours, and all that.
Seriously, hope it's a lovely, refreshing weekend for all.

Little amaryllis looks like she's going to make a break for it right out of the pot. The bud looks plumper today! Hope you are well planted on the couch and relaxing. Have a great weekend.

My mom used to say that too. I switched it up a little to "Rolling around like a chicken with its legs cut off." I think it is a more apt visual of how I expend my energy in useless ways.
My mom always has food in her purse. Usually it's a roll or biscuit syphoned off a hospital dinner tray or from a restaurant. Then she finds it in the bottom of her purse two weeks later and laughs.
Last week I found a single serving container of butter in my coat pocket. And so it begins...
