02.27.2007 :: anemoi mittens, the beginning
Anemoi mittens! The yarn? Knitpicks andean treasure in colorways sunset heather, which is more orange than this picture shows and mystery colorway which is no mystery at all, it is dark grey.
And the palm side?
I mistakenly thought this was named ANEMONE. Because the swirls remind me of an anemone. But in actuality it is ANEMOI which are the Wind Gods. That is a much better name, I'm sure you'll agree.
This pattern is pure pleasure. I'm not sure why I ever stop doing colorwork because it makes me happy. Very happy. I love knitting it. I love gazing at it. I love wearing them. Mittens. They are good.
~~
Thank you for your kind words. I can't tell you the joy that having this here blog brings me. When I am down, you cheer me. When I am sad, you lift me. When I worry, you sit down and worry along with me. When I need advice, you are quick to advise.
What on earth do people without a blog do?
I'm glad I don't have to find out!
~~~
I cannot leave any comments on a typepad blog. Margene? Norma? Kate? Birdsong? COOKIE? (I did NOT forget Cookie even though she thinks I did. I could not leave a comment at her blog either )(There's more, don't worry. There's more!) It's futile.
Bitter? Yes, thanks for asking.
Hey, BigAlice (bigalice.blogspot.com) posted a list of "things I like" in effort to improve her outlook. I tried it too, and it brightened my day considerably - try it! Let's blow away that negativity and for a little while, think of things we love. (And even when you've finished your list, you'll be thinking of other things all day/week long!)
I'm with you -- I had the name of those mittens wrong, too. I haven't knit them yet, but I do want to give them a go.
And I think that part of the problem might be if you're trying to comment from a different computer. I haven't been having trouble getting comments or leaving comments, but I did have trouble with comment authentication on one blog today and I think it's because I was using a different computer and my info wasn't matching up.
Ha ha... good excuse. We all know you are a self-admitted skimmer. Apparently I need to whitelist you, it worked with Norma right?
Love your mittens. I stayed up way too late last night starting my pair. I'm obsessed with them now. Can't stop thinking of stranded color work. Gah!!!
Did you forget about me re Typepad comments or have you given me enough coverage this year :)
Sea creatures, wind, both sound appealing,
I think you might have the start to a darn good country-western song there in that second part... or maybe a love song... or maybe a country-western love song!
Love you, Sandy -- you're such a bright spot. Is it February, you think, making for all the rudeness everywhere? I can't believe all the rudeness I've been reading about. Maybe that March Lion will march in bearing manners.
Love those mittens!!
You do the colour work so well. That's a beautiful piece of mitten knitting. Nice colour combo too.
I had hoped the maintanence last night would help. NO!? Damn Typepad. What's Norma doing trying to take over your blog? Nice mitten;-)
I've been having trouble with TypePad, too. It's so frustrating!
Ah, Sandy and her Andean Treasure mittens strike again! :-) Why have I not tried this yarn yet? Anything you like this much has to be really good.
They're looking lovely so far!
It's quite all right. I'm leaving comments in your name, I realized. HAHAHAHAH. I've been dissing people all over the bloggerhood, using your name! Oh, the mischief I could do. A'ight, I will contact them and tell them to whitelist you. I think I can get your IP address somewhere. If not, will you send it to me?
Posted by: Norma on 02.27.2007 AT 04:46 PM
Hahaha, we need a t-shirt.
Instead of WWJD, it'll be WDPWBD?
Posted by: Norma on 02.27.2007 AT 04:29 PM
San! The colors for the NOT-anemone mittens are WONDERFUL! I love them. It's true. What do people without blogs do? :)
Posted by: Norma on 02.27.2007 AT 04:29 PM
I'm glad I'm not the only one who made the mistake of thinking it was anemone...Learn something new everyday :D
