06.27.2007 :: WWHD: A poll

Because I'm wondering what you have to put up with in your hair life.

D. It's get flat and droopy underneath with a nice halo of frizz on top. It also flips up at the ends which makes me look like I just woke up.

I chose C because my hair, being straight black Asian hair, is always just that. I wouldn't necessarily call it "perfect" or "styled", but it does stay the way it is.

I can't see the poll, but if "Sweat" is an option...well, I'm queen. I have thin, fine hair (so unfair, the only thin thing on my body)that hairdressers like to refer to as "baby-fine." Which is a nice way to say, "we can't do a thing with your hair, let's just cut it short all over." And that's a good thing, since now that I've reached a certain age, I break out into a non-stop sweat once the temp reaches over 70. So from mid-May to mid-September, it's just a wet, nasty mess. Not a pretty scene.

I am still embarassed when I see myself in my sister's wedding pictures. An entire head of frizz on a 100 degree plus day reminds me why I have chosen not to live on the Atlantic coast. There is no frizz like NH frizz.

I voted frizz cause it does get bigger but it doesn't really frizz. I have the deadest straight hair in the world. It won't even accept a perm for more than 5 minutes (thank goodness! That 5 minutes in front of a mirror was long enough to smarten me up). Mostly, my hair hangs. There's a lot of it and it's kind of a harsh texture, so no way it's going to accept styling suggestions without a huge amount of goop and I don't do goop. My best hair secret? I don't look in the mirror. Makes for quite a carefree existence. :)

Being curly, my hair tends more to frizz than drooping, but really? I don't have that much of a problem--plenty of moisture from conditioner "sealed" in with gel to keep a constant amount in the hair shaft . . . it doesn't always work, but it mostly does!

Welp, mine droops AND frizzes, but at least 51% droops, so that's how I voted. Heh.

Hmmm. I have no idea, as there IS no humidity here in Idaho. Therefore we all look like a bunch of dried up prunefaces, but dang--our hair is sure nice! :)

I tried to vote *frizz*, but got a message that a vote had already been registered from my computer! Did someone sneak in here while I wasn't looking?

Posted by: Jan on 06.27.2007 AT 07:26 PM

I just added my 'frizz' vote - which reminds me, I need to reorder some JessiCurl stuff...

Anybody want to trade hair? My head looks like an angora goat on my good days...(not the face part, either...for you smartypantses out there) ;o)

The poll won't load in my browser, but I get the gist of the question...

Mine would get very big and frizzy if I just let it all hang out, but I usually keep it braided or pinned up in weather like this.

I use the exact same coping mechanism in winter, when my curls go flat as a board. ;-)

Pinned up, so it will leave me alone. :p

It's waist length, thick dark (bottle) brown hair with a slight wave. I shed like you wouldn't believe, btw. o.0

I'm thinking about getting it all cut off again. We'll see. I may just need more ice cream. ;^)

i chose droop, but i'm not sure what to say. my hair tends to do a bit of both, but that's mostly because i can sit on it. and it's getting curlier as i get older (my mom and dad had naturally wavy hair, but since they were both older when i was born (40 & 38) i don't have a roadmap for younger hair, lol.

I henna mine red, my husband of 1 year has yet to see me in my natural color. Other than that, nothing fancy, it's up off my neck in a messy half pulled through ponytail.

When I was recovering from my car accident and on painkillers, I made the grave mistake of getting a perm and color. Don't EVER do that. It's taken 8 months to get better. Now it's back to its nice, thin, droopiness and I've never been so happy to see thin, droopy hair in my life.

Posted by: LeAnne on 06.27.2007 AT 01:24 PM

Droop. But think of all the money we're saving on conditioner...

Posted by: jenifleur on 06.27.2007 AT 12:16 PM

Mine kind of does neither but if it does anything it droops.

Mine goes a bit frizzycurly 'round the temples when it mists out. (This doesn't happen a lot in London, I think it's more of a PNW thing, so it hasn't happened in a while).

And when it's humid it goes kind of droopy...but not always.

I have really thick hair, but the hair itself is really fine and VERY straight. I wear it tied back a lot and i'm prone to greasy hair. When it's humid my hair gets greasier and if it's down it goes lank and ugly. (It's pretty ugly.)

I lived in FL for 20 years where the humidity is constant. My hair expects the humidity now. Then I moved to Virginia. In the winter, there is no humidity and my hair poofs up like a chia pet. My hair looks perfectly normal now that we have some humidity.

Posted by: Trish on 06.27.2007 AT 10:36 AM

None of the above. My hair would like humidity...but we have none! So my hair droops in the low humidity heat...in fact, it just droops.

Posted by: margene on 06.27.2007 AT 10:18 AM

What if it frizzes AND droops at the same time? I have hair issues.

Posted by: Heather G. on 06.27.2007 AT 09:12 AM

Mine droops on the top and frizzes on the ends. But it's short(er) so it's not that big a deal. I feel for you honey. I do.

Posted by: Cara on 06.27.2007 AT 08:57 AM

Mine frizzes, most of the time.

Nothing compared to my daughter's though - she gets so frizzy she looks like she sporting an afro.

Posted by: Jenn C. on 06.27.2007 AT 08:42 AM

droop, droopy, droopest
