07.08.2007 :: All this and a loon too

4th of July weekend finds my family at the lake with friends and this year was no different. This weekend was extra long which is always a good thing.
I did so much, none of it has anything to do with reading the over 1000 updates on my bloglines, so I remain out of touch. But you'll still be there when I catch up, won't you?
This long weekend, while not reading bloglines, I knit, I read, I played more games of yahtzee than a person has a right, I drank plenty of beer most of them with blueberries floating in them (it's important to get your fruit in somehow and blueberries are very good for you, especially when floating in blueberry beer!!), I went on many boatrides, I swam, I watched waterskiing, I sky watched, I napped, I reflected on life, I had lots of deep meaningful conversations, I had lots of conversations that involved endless giggling, I hugged, I got hugs, I sat around campfires, I ate smores with reese cups instead of straight chocolate (I highly encourage you to do this if you can. Go ahead, a microwave works), I slept late (8:30 am), I cooked meals for friends, I ate meals with friends, I ate more meals than I should have but don't regret a one, I cuddled with dogs, I cuddled with hubby *but not at the same time*, I gazed at the lake (what IS it about water, anyway?)...I had a great time.
Here's a couple of pictures. You can click on any of them to get magically whisked away to my flickr account where you can see more of them from the weekend. It is not a complete glimpse though.
Back to work tomorrow. And you know? I'm ready. I'm envigorated and refreshed.
Hope you are too.

This is the time that I wished I had a zoom lens more than my camera has. And this would mark the time that I am now saving up for a super dooper camera complete with zoom lens to capture the loons in my life. All of them.
Because, you know, life IS loony. And I'd like photo evidence of it all!

Sounds like a lovely time! I love loons too - have a slew of not so great photo's I took last week - even with my zoom - darn shakey hands!

Oh it looks so familiar and lovely. The sunset spectacular! The loons, both of them, wonderful.
Glad you felt refreshed, that's what it is all about eh?

Oh, this microwave camper thanks you for the tip!

From one lake lover to another I loved your pictures. I go on vacation this coming week and I can't wait to sit, look at the lake knit and feel my blood pressure go down.

I too have been admiring cameras with more ZOOM!

I HOPE I'm that rejeuvenated after our East Coast trip which will be full of emotional baggage. I'm leaving the last three days for C and I. Meeting you will be my highpoint! I read your entry to my husband and cousin and they agreed you're my type of people :)

WOW! THAT is a happy weekend. You go, girl!!!

I've been craving 10x optical zoom for a while now -- it's only analysis paralysis that's kept me from plunking down the credit card.

Regardless of loon size, I'm blissing out just looking at your pix.

That's why you want a photo of me, isn't it? To add me to the Wall of Loons!

I'm so glad you had a relaxing looong weekend. ♥

Ooooo. A big-ass camera! You'd have fun with that.

Looks like you had a wonderful vacation. Such lovely photos, too.

Someone told me the sound of a loon was amazing. It sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing week. Summer is a time to regroup and just be with ourselves. Blogging IMHO is overrated anyway;-)

What a GREAT weekend!!! There is nothing so soothing as spending time at the lake!!!

That sounds like such a fabulous weekend.

There IS something about staring at a lake that provides clarity, isn't there? When we can get camping, I find myself simply watching the water ripple... and I am 100% at peace when I am near water. It's funny-- Dan SWEARS he can visually see my blood pressure drop when we cross 93N into NH... guess that's where I am meant to find "home". :)

Sounds lovely, and the pictures prove it!

Thank you for that virtual vacation!

It sounds like an *awesome* weekend!

My camera has a 10X zoom, but when I took some loon pictures yesterday the loon is less clear than yours. Those darned things NEVER come close to shore.

Keeping up with your bloglines is highly over-rated. That sounds like a wonderful weekend. Great tip on the Reese smores! I will have to try it.
