08.28.2007 :: Tuesday fruit roll up

Birthday thank you's all around, complete with cake breath!
You made my day special. Many of you will be donating knit goods and money. What more could a girl ask for?
Even though I was quite happy to stop there, there were some tangible gifts. Here are some of my favorites!
Socks from Cookie
When a package appeared on my porch on Saturday, never did I even imagine that 2 pairs of handknit socks would be inside. Never. 2 pairs!!! (Okay and some of the yummiest dried banana chips I've ever eaten, I'd share some...but. Well.) A huge Thank You to Cookie! My feet are the happiest around. AND. The weather is sock appropriate. They fit perfect, are beautifully knit, are beautiful and were a grand surprise! Blow me over with a Head of Garlic!
Okay, then:
gift from a friend!
Not one, but 2 heads of Garlic as a gift from My Norma! You may think that is a strange gift, but is it really? No. One of the garlics is gone so it was well appreciated. Thank you, Norma!
And one of my favorite cards, from a co-worker:
Birthday card from a co-worker!

Amish Road Rage~ heh~
But the inside?
The inside of my favorite card!
Signed on a post it note so I can reuse it! I laughed almost until I cried! And you know? I plan to give it back to her on her birthday! (The crucial part of that plan is that I need to put it in a spot where I will find it again. Life is so complicated!)
~~~
There has been a tiny bit of knitting. I can't get excited about anything right now. Which irritates the bejeezus out of me. I am planning, though to use September as a finishing up month. I have a couple of projects that have been lounging around long enough. I figure if September is good enough for Back to School for the kids, I figure it's good enough for me to get Back to the Knits. Or something like that.
Wanna join me?
House re-beautification project update:
New roof~ Check
New Chimney~ check
New front porch roof~check
New front porch ceiling~ check
New back steps~check
Lighting on front porch~Check
outside outlet~Check
New shingles on front of house~check
This week, hopefully, the front porch will be rebuilt and the new gutter system put on and then we will be having a clam bake on that porch!
Thank goodness it's coming to a close. Not just because I will be eating steamers and lobster, either!
So.
Happy Tuesday!
Or um, how about a birthday joke.
Amish road rage. LOL. I live deep in the heart of Amish Country. OK Sandy, a birth joke.
What goes clippity clop, clippity clop, bang, bang.
Give up?
An Amish drive by.
No, it's not an original design. Goolge 'traveler sock pattern' and you'll get it. It's a D-Made pattern.
How quickly they forget. I offered to knit socks for that Norma in exchange for shortbread, but she ignored the offer. Just wait till it gets cold...
Clam bake!!! Oh, that's a celebration I can get behind. :-)
The purple cabled socks are gorgeous--is that an original design?
What a wonderful bounty of birthday stuff!! Happy, happy to you, sugardoodle! If anyone deserves a bounty, it's YOU.
That homeopathic puddin' Norma....I'll bet the garlic is great. Mmmm. A little olive oil, a little garlic, a little fresh tomato....I'm swooning here.
SO glad to hear you're getting the house remodeled in time for me to move in with you guys so I can be closer to the ocean....hehehe!
xoxo
You got socks from Cookie? AGAIN?! I am so jealous. Okay, Cookie, I'll trade you garlic for socks!! I've got a bowlful of it left! :)
You have all that wonderful construction going on! So awesome.
Ya know, I was going to tell you that you had to donate your socks, but, since you're living thru a remodel, I just couldn't be that mean to you.
Great card! Good luck on finding it when the time is right. ;^)
