11.25.2007 :: Parading through Sunday!

View my profile on NaBloPoMo

The air is perfectly crisp and cold today, just right for a little walk and perfect to take in a PARADE! The annual Santa Parade in Beverly!
There was lots to see! (as always click on any photo to go to Flickr land)
There were:
Cute kids!
Cute kid watching parade
This kid is dressed appropriately
More cute kids. Where is his hat and mittens?
This kid is not (I am very judgmental in that way, about kids not being dressed warmly enough)
Big, elaborate floats
Big elaborate floats
and
silly looking christmas tree on a float with only 2 ornaments on it.
One silly looking float with a Christmas tree with only 2 decorations on it. I guess they ran out of time. Perhaps they are minimalists.
Lots of gifts
Lots of gifts
Present a bike
Even one on a bike. A gift has to get it's exercise you know!
Turkey dinner. Again
Is that turkey dinner following me around? Stalker!
Lucy
Good Grief, it's Lucy!
Santa???
SANTA??? Why are your ears so funny?
St. Mary's girls have lots to cheer about I guess
These little Catholic girls have plenty to cheer about. I can't believe those nuns let them wear skirts so short! Times, they are a changing!
stupid vendors trying to sell me junk
Stupid Vendors, trying to make a living while I watch a parade!
Fire truck named White Hen
That may LOOK like a fire truck, but it's really a White Hen. Who knew?
And the dogs. Dogs love a parade!
Dog?
This one looks like it ate a big dinner (a bit STUFFED, don't you think?)
Kosher hot dog
A Kosher Hot Dog (Perhaps my favorite of the day)
and
Festive Pups
A pair of festive pups! (who turned out to be my former neighbor's son's pups)
Small Pup world, isn't it?
HoHoHo
But we all got what we came for! A minute with Mr. Claus himself. The reason for the season. Or at least the parade!
SANTA!!!
SANTA!!! OVER HERE!!!
Hey, I have a list! (It looks a bit like Mr. Kringle might be running for office!)
And now, I have a cold nose and cold feet. But I also have turkey soup simmering on the stove. How could a Sunday be better than this?

Hee, yer silly, those little cheerleaders have spankies on underneath those short skirts. (former cheerleader speaking here) Man, you guys have a great parade!

It looks like such a fun! But I want to know what Terry asked! Did he, did he?

Oh, dear. Remind me not to let you meet Young'un until I can convince him that it's time to put his shorts away. Because so far I am losing this battle. Although Wednesday he got so cold playing that I can now, at least, get him to wear a winter coat when he goes outdoors.

Yes, we're all waiting with bated breath to hear if it was Ho Ho Ho! or Ha Ha Ha!

Posted by: Norma on 11.25.2007 AT 07:08 PM

Glad to hear you are off the couch.

Great photos - thanks for sharing!

As for dressing the kids - Dobby used to resemble the kid in 'A Christmas Story' whenever we went anywhere and the temps dropped below 55 degrees (I think she may still resent that a tad bit) ;o)

Nothing like a parade! Glad you're getting warm now and hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Yes, but did he yell "Ho Ho Ho!"?

:)
