11.30.2007 :: The end. (Of NaBloMoFoSchmo) not of me
View my profile on NaBloPoMo
Well. Here it is. November 30th. I have posted every day in November. Raise your needles if you believed that would happen. A funny thing happened along the way, not only did I find my inner blogger but I found the inner knitter as well. I did more knitting in this month than many months previous. Is that a coincidence? I think not. And the blogging? It caught me by surprise as I really started to feel that it was time to give up the blogging. As the wise Claudia once said to me "why do it if it's not fun". I paraphrase but it was something extremely sensible like that. That's the thing about Claudia. She is wise. I like wise people.
So, when it was NOT fun anymore, I thought that was the sign. Hang up my blog hat and move on. And then this little NaBloMo thingy came along and I signed up reluctantly. I'm glad I did. The only thing I regret is that I have not been very good about getting back to you. Or for reading YOUR blog for that matter. I really DO need a way to stretch those hours in a day. Then I'LL be the superhero, right?
I sincerely thank you for coming over here every day and reading my words. It has meant a lot to me. Although even after all these years of blogging, WHY you want to read about me is, well, beyond me. I'm glad you do, though.
And to thank you? A Thank You Contest. I toyed with the idea of having it as a SURPRISE contest for all that have commented here during the month but I think that would be unfair. (Or would it?) I will open it up to all.
Leave me a comment here. Say something nice, tell a joke just say SOMETHING. You could win this wonderful skein of Mountain Colors Bearfoot in the colorway Sweet Pea. It's a great yarn! Going to great people. I will draw a random winner on December 2nd. Noon. High Noon (EST).

And I say goodbye to November. As far as months go, you've been good to me, November.

I knew you would do it!!! I L.O.V.E. reading your entries and I am always a bit sad when you don't post but hey, I gets what I pays for ..right?
Your pictures are glorious and the stories you tell about life with mature (?) children are funny, warm and inspiring!
Happy whatever day it is and thanks for doing what you do...just being Sandy!

Congratulations on posting dqily for a month. I consider that quite a feat as I find it difficult to post to my blog once a month.

I'm a lurker...yep sadly a bloggless lurker, but I do enjoy yours and hope to get one someday. Just a hopeful note to you I think "our" storm is on its way over...hope it reaches you so you can maybe have a snowday on Monday:)

I had a particularly crappy November. I'm glad to see it come to an end. Here's to a better December!

Congratulations on reaching your goal!
If you figure out how to stretch the hours in a day, will you post instructions?
Posted by: Nicole on 12.01.2007 AT 10:39 PM
You know, I thought I hadn't posted to my blog because I hadn't been knitting, but perhaps I have lost my knitting mojo because I haven't been blogging?
I have really enjoyed the daily posts here. It made a really hectic month a bit easier to navigate. Thanks!!

Congratulations on meeting your goal! I'm a long time reader, but seldom comment (anywhere, actually!). I was born in Salem and spent the first 18 years of my life on the north shore. I live in NY state now by way of a dozen or so moves. It's nice to see/hear about my "old" home :)

I'm planning to start a blog after I retire and have Lots of Time. Seriously, I don't know how you do it at all, much less daily. Thanks for giving me so many good words to read as I dealt with a moth incursion (my yarn is protected, I just failed to take equal care of the finished products; stupid, stupid).

Hi Sandy
I hope you'll keep posting, it is always nice to check in for a taste of my part of New England (I was raised in Marblehead). Congratulations on finishing your November challenge.

I have been enjoying your blog for quite a while. It was fun to watch your avocado sprout.
Posted by: Heather Shelton on 12.01.2007 AT 04:17 PM
I enjoyed your 30 days and now I wonder what I'll read on the weekends. Maybe I'll post something myself (although I doubt it). Congrats on finishing, and the success you've had.
Posted by: Julie on 12.01.2007 AT 03:08 PM
I'm very glad you decided not to hang up the blogging hat! I've been a lurker on your blog and others for many months. But it wasn't til I started my own blog that I recognized what a challenge it can be sometimes, and really appreciated what you do! So I'm trying to be better about giving my favorite blogs more comment action.
p.s. I successfully completed NaBloPoMo too! Doesn't it feel great?!
Posted by: Kath on 12.01.2007 AT 02:57 PM
I think your pictures of the colors around where you live (leaves, sky, apples) are absolutely gorgeous and inspiring. I've enjoyed reading you this month.
Posted by: Stacey on 12.01.2007 AT 01:09 PM
I'm so happy to hear you are having blog fun again. I'd miss you if you weren't here.
Posted by: claudia on 12.01.2007 AT 12:01 PM
It has been such a nice routine every evening when coming home to have a moment and read you blog. Little jokes and thoughts you've thrown in the ear have truly been nice and not to forget to mention about your sky photos, superb! I've enjoyed this month alot:)! Keep it going atleast few times a week. I can't wait!
Posted by: Kirsi Ronkainen on 12.01.2007 AT 11:38 AM
I've enjoyed seeing more of you this month ... and am glad you've decided to hang around a while longer.
Posted by: Ruth on 12.01.2007 AT 10:46 AM
I'm glad that are including comments from today. I read your blog, but I'm more of a lurker than a commenter. Leave it to a contest to get me out of my shell!!
I so enjoy your blog and hope you continue. And know that I post a sky picture every week.
Posted by: Lynn on 12.01.2007 AT 10:38 AM
I've totally enjoyed the daily posts. And I hope that since Nov is over, we won't be reduced to weekly posts! You'd obviously be missed.
Posted by: Felicia on 12.01.2007 AT 09:38 AM
It has been fun reading all month! Glad that your knitting and blogging mojo has returned!!
Posted by: Kathy on 12.01.2007 AT 09:33 AM
I was going to just say "something" but Cookie beat me to it. Damn her. :-)
Anyway, I love you, Sandy. And you'd better know it.

Hey Sandy, I just wanted to let you know that not only did your Saturday Sky idea inspire me to take the photos, but I even had them printed into a book (www.blurb.com), and you get all the credit.
I didn't blog at all during November, but I'm going to try the every day thing this month instead. And YOUR book will be in there somewhere.
Carry on, in whatever capacity works for you.

Thank you for you, Sandy! Truly.

Congratulations on making it through! I knew you could do it. :) (Does that speak more to my faith in you, or my lack of knowledge of you? I don't know.) Beautiful sky!
Posted by: Andrea (noricum) on 12.01.2007 AT 12:30 AM
Yeah! You did so well! I have yet to find my inner-blogger, but I still learned much during the month. I am happy it's over though :)
That sky is beautiful!
Posted by: michelle on 12.01.2007 AT 12:18 AM
I've enjoyed all the posts this month - and the photos (especially today) are awesome!
It's funny - sort of - but I've been so wiped out by work this month that I've not had the energy to post much, but have been much better about reading.
Posted by: diann on 11.30.2007 AT 11:54 PM
Congrats on finishing the November blogging. I always enjoy the photos on your blog, and thank you for reminding me to look up more often.

I love the pics on the blog. And I totally snorted whiskey out my nose at the "kosher hot dog" pic a few posts ago. Ow. :D

It has been wonderful. I will be so sad if you don't PoMo-re often.
That sky photo is wonderful! I love how the tree looks like it's on fire -- that beautiful orange! Gorgeous.

Well, I have really enjoyed your blog this month, since I got to meet you and now I can "hear" you when you write. Keep writing and knitting and telling us about all (or some) of it!
Posted by: Jane on 11.30.2007 AT 07:13 PM
Uhmm...can we look forward to another month of daily posts? ;-) I've enjoyed them all! You even motivated me to dust of the seal-a-meal and start learning to use it!
Posted by: Kate/Massachusetts on 11.30.2007 AT 07:04 PM
I'm just coming out of lurkdom to tell you that I've enjoyed reading you all month. You tell delightful stories :=)

Thanks for sharing yourself with us all. You are a joy to read everyday! I hope you continue with your blog, otherwise you will be sorely missed.

I so enjoy reading your blog and sharing your thoughts. And the sky pictures make it all the better.
Now, if my name is drawn in the contest, toss it out as I've already got several skeins of lovely Bearfoot in my stash. I hope whoever wins will enjoy!

Congratulations for accomplishing your goal and finding the inner blogger knitter. I bet it feels good. And why read you? Because it's fun. And those sky photos are wonderful!
Posted by: Chris on 11.30.2007 AT 05:34 PM
Sandy, I found you through Norma's blog. I read your 101 things and thought....this is me! I enjoy reading your blog every day. Please continue to blog and show us pictures of everyday things, like your silverware drawer, in new and wonderful ways. Thanks for being you, and apparently me also!
Posted by: Marilyn on 11.30.2007 AT 05:29 PM
Woohooooo! You did it! We did it! We ALL did it! Together.
We rock the house.
That last photo ROCKS the house!!!

Wow! Margene is going around threatening us. Now that's nice.
heh, I agree with all you said about the blogging. Found my inner blogger. I hope we keep it up, I love reading you and being in our little group. WE DID IT!

I've been trying to leave regular (though not daily) comments on all those NaBloPoMoFo blogs this month -- I've had so much fun hearing from you more regularly, I thought it was only fair to encourage you by sending more comment love your way:)
Posted by: Danielle on 11.30.2007 AT 04:57 PM
I have enjoyed this month immensely, Sandy! Yours was one of the first blogs I started to read regularly, and I'd been missing your regular posts.
Posted by: Donna on 11.30.2007 AT 04:51 PM
I'm going to miss hearing from you every day!
(Oh and no need to put me in the contest!)
Posted by: Cara on 11.30.2007 AT 04:50 PM
Wasn't that an awesome sunrise this morning? I was wondering if you were out there photographing it in its glory. Remember what I said- regular posting please :-) . After all we need to see the Christmas Village and whether Fig wreaks havoc with it like Maryse's cat did.
Posted by: Manise on 11.30.2007 AT 04:48 PM
I have read every single post of yours this month and I've been informed and entertained.
I love the sky pic!
Posted by: Sandy on 11.30.2007 AT 04:44 PM
Thank you for doing NoBloDoReMiFaSo. I've truly enjoyed reading your entries every day, and I think that last picture is your best ever. I only hope that this isn't all as final as it sounds!
Posted by: Bonny on 11.30.2007 AT 04:20 PM
Hurray! You did it! Way to go Sandy. I'm very impressed and loved reading your blog every day. I'm even happier that you have been knitting more because knitting is a very good thing and you are wonderful and deserve very good things.
Posted by: Paula on 11.30.2007 AT 04:18 PM
Something. :p
Thank you for posting all month long. I know it wasn't always easy, but it made me very happy to see something from you every day. Plus it was easier than lurking in your bushes to see if you were okay. Maybe the stretching will help with the time management? Yeah, I don't think so, either, but it was worth a shot.
