01.03.2008 :: 3. The pride of any lamb

baby sweater, finished
Knitting Pure and Simple Neck down baby cardigan
Needle Size: US8
Yarn: Lamb's Pride also known as "I cannot get enough of this yarn years and years after the whole world fell in love with it"
This little sweater, sporting Harry Potter Gryffindor colors is a gift for a baby to be that will be having a Harry Potter color existence. Mine is not to judge, mine is to knit for babies. So be it.
I loved the pattern. I loved the yarn. The colors? Meh. But it worked in the end, didn't it? Remembering that I declare that Stripes are the New Black, the hood is quite stylin, don't you agree?
Makes me wish that I had knit when my kids were babies. Do you think they'd wear such a thing now?
Did you stop laughing yet?
Fine, I'll wait.

and my favorite shot of the sweater, all artsy and stuff:

It's cold here in the Northeast. 9 degrees F was our high. No sun, wind that bites you. The kind of cold that settles into the house even with the heat puffing away burning it's golden oil.
What's your weather doing today?
(I am numbering my posts for the year. I was going to see how long it took for someone to notice. Day 2 is when the jig was up!)

So cute!

Yep, it was cold, all right. Now it's going to be warm, um, make that less cold, for the next few days. Works for me: it'll get us that much closer to spring.

What a cute baby sweater! Looking forward to all 366 posts.

I'm certain the Mum-to-be will write about this in her baby book! If she wants all things Harry Potter, you will thrill her!

On a knitterly note, this is really well done. The hood executed in narrower stripes and the yellow buttons sewn on with maroon take it from a striped sweater to a designer sweater.

Cute! I had noticed the numbering but hadn't said anything. :)

Ka-Yute!

My weather? Same as yours, I think.

That is a great sweater. I would have balked at the colors, too, but it turned out very cute.

Also, cashmere gift yarn? Yay.

Cute, cute sweater.

Cold here in Wisconsin yesterday and today, high around zero. What is worse is that our heat is not functioning properly in the house, and it was 49 inside when I got up yesterday. Today it got all the way up to 54.

Gonna be a long winter...

Cute sweater...babies are at our mercy, fashion-wise. Hee. I think numbering your posts is a very cool idea.

Cute sweater - love the style and the buttons set it off.

High here was 45 - and before you think this is warm, we are at the Florida Georgia border. It's COLD FOR US!

The sweater is too cute, and my younger ones would wear it. My older daughter might wear it. My eldest son would give me That Look if I tried to push such a thing at him. He won't even wear the Gryffindor House Scarf I made him (out of sport weight wool, mind you!) three years ago.

Oh, that is just so freakin' adorable! Love the artsy shot the best.

COLD. 5 below zero as we speak. (warmest today, something like yours, I think...maybe a bit less) And David told me it's supposed to be near 60 above next week. This is one crazy world, I tell ya.

Very cute sweater. Very, very cute. Love the stripes.

It was minus 3 on my way to work this a.m., minus 14 with that wind chill thingie. Should be right about 40 over the weekend and for a couple of days after... not sure we can call it the "January thaw" yet. Whatever. I'm looking forward to melting snow, especially on the sidewalks!

Cold here too- highs in the 30s, but it was 19F this morning! Brrr. I had to turn on the heater upstairs for the first time this winter. Forecast is for mid-60s by the weekend. :)

Love the baby sweater! I bet Fig would wear one...

In my corner of the Sacramento CA burbs is it currently 54F/12C and cloudy. Rain is coming and the city people are losing their minds. o.0

Yeah, it's as cold here on the South Shore as up on the North. We're right near the water, and it's normally pretty windy. Last night was one for the records with the wind, though.

Brrrrrr.

Same as yours, Sandy. Darn cold! Cute as a button sweater!
