01.08.2008 :: 8. Looking up pays off

Every morning, I get up in the dark. I look out the same window after a while hoping to see a great sunrise. Today, I got lucky!
I try to look out this window every morning
Sunrise
Sunrise, January 8, 2008
And as I was pulling out of my driveway, looking down my street:
sometimes it really pays to pry open your eyes in the wee hours of the morning
I was very late this morning (I hate when that happens) and amid my rushing around, I did notice the pinks and oranges reflecting around the neighborhood and at one point I said to myself (and I quote) "screw it, I'm already late, I may as well take pictures of the sunrise"
~~~
A word about the links. It is subtle here on this blog, but when you see an orangey line under a word like THIS<------------------ click on the word THIS and be transported to a magical link that I inserted. A surprise, if you will.
The bread recipe? Can be found HERE. <------------click on the word HERE.
Go make bread.
Oh, sorry, I get bossy like that sometimes.
BEAUTIFUL! I have done the same, "Hey I'm late, but look at that beautiful sky" See, it made your day better, and also improved many others! Thanks!
So THAT'S what it looks like.
Absolutely beautiful. And something I'm not likely to see in person - the sun is well up by the time I get around to it.
Was that sky not gorgeous this morning? I caught the second half of it. The sunset was equally remarkable! More pinks and stripes of turquoise.
Beautiful sky!
I already copied the recipe - back off lady! Give me a couple of days, it IS tax season, you know... ;o))
OK, OK, I'll consider the recipe :-)
It may be beautiful here in general, but this time of year there are no sunrises nor sunsets. Just shades of grey.
I think I need some sun. My Puerto Rican genes are crying for the tropics. A Puerto Rican in Canada, now that's an oxymoron.
I take pictures sometimes out of my bathroom window before i take my shower. It makes my day when i get to see all those pretty colors. Take it while you can because the sun is starting to rise earlier(although slowly)!!
I hope you got pictures of the sunset, too--I thought of you when I saw it.
Super sunrise. Red sky at morning sailors take warning. Red sky at night sailors' delight. My mom used to say that.
BTW I totally smelled that bread yesterday. You've created smellanet!
Love that sunrise, and your attitude about being late is the best attitude ever. It will serve you well in life. :)
Whoa! That is subtle. I had to put my reading glasses on AND squint. Good thing you used caps.
Oh, beautiful sunrise, too. Totally worth being a little bit later.
