01.09.2008 :: 9. Chaos Theory? Quantum Physics? Algorithmic Probability?* No. Just Randomness

Is it Wednesday? That means I can be random, right?
Well, let's have at it!
~My Christmas Tree is still up and I'm loving it! I know I should take it down, but it's not dropping it's needles too badly and with the no ornament thing, the thought of taking it down is not overwhelming me. Is there a stigma that is attached to the last tree in the city?
~I cried over a little white dog at work 2 days in a row. I have never met this little dog in person, but I loved ♥ him anyway. All I could think of, when I was in the bathroom stall at work sniffling and snuffling away for a couple of minutes that if someone comes in and asks me what's the matter, I'm going to have to tell them I am weeping for a dog I have NEVER SEEN! What of it??
~I wish to heck I would keep up with the laundry. There is always a pile. A pile in the dryer, in the washer, in the hamper, beside Andy's side of the bed! (he has this "thing" that drives me wild! He says that the item of clothing is not DIRTY, he only wore it for a little while but it's not CLEAN so it can't go back in the closet or drawer. He's a teen at heart. A perpetual teenager)
~I wish I could knit faster. I have 2 baby sleeves and the button bands to finish to deliver this deadline knitting on Friday. Gah!
~It has been so warm out the last couple of days! Yesterday was positively springlike with a high temperature of 65 degrees F. While I enjoyed it (especially the part about the heat not running in the house, oil is SO expensive right now!) I feel it's just a tease and will make the inevitable cold seem a bit colder and stronger. It is winter. It should be cold.
~ McCain, New Hampshire? What were you thinking?
~I love Cheez-its!
~I keep oversleeping in the morning. This is a weird occurance. I hope it stops soon~
~I miss hearing the Christmas music on the radio. I can't help it but cutting me off cold turkey like that is hard on a girl.
~Chicken for dinner. But how to cook it?
~And yet, I'm craving taco salad. Go figure.
~~
Now? I randomly end this blog entry.
By choosing one picture off of one of my photo CD's. How much more random can I get?

Last year I decorated the fig tree instead of putting up a regular tree. I think I didn't take the ornaments off until August.

Our tree is still up too, mainly because I need to prod everyone to take it down.

The water is gorgeous. I feel like dyeing... but I'll have to wait for spring.

Which Republican would you prefer?

Laundry mates in the night. I'm sure of it.

Wow, I felt like I wrote that list! My tree is still up, I cried over the same little white dog that I've never met, there's too much laundry everywhere, chicken for dinner, oversleeping, missing Christmas music, etc. All but the cheezits -- not one of my favorites even though I love cheddar cheese. I chop the chicken up, use it like the ground meat to make taco sauce and put it on top of my taco salad.

You are not the last person with their Christmas tree up. Mine is still up WITH ornaments! I am dreading taking it down.

Also my future husband has the same laundry philosophy Andy. This drives me crazy!!

Oh my God, thank you! I still have three Christmas boxes to take out to the shed. I only got my tree down on Tuesday!! I hear you on the laundry and the want to knit faster thing. I'm right there with you!!!!

Do not give us a hard time about McCain! We can't help it, we've all been programmed to love the guy. I have a strange, inexplicable compulsion to vote for him.

Posted by: Cheryl on 01.10.2008 AT 11:19 AM

You're not the only one with your tree still up. I keep telling myself that it's still up because I put it up late and I just want to enjoy it a little longer. In acuality, I was too lazy to put it up and now am too lazy to take it down! Such is life.

No Cheez-its have passed my lips in 2008 so far, and I'm trying to keep it that way. But they are definitely my junk food of choice!

I second the vote for currying the chicken. We eat a lot of curry at my house. My favorite one is the saffron cream sauce (in a can! My mother-in-law would cry if she knew) from Jyoti.

And I sniffled for Vincent too. I think we all did. You're in good company.

What a fine random list. I'm sad about Vincent, too.

We're all missing the little white muppet as well.

Also there with you on the Cheez-it love, although in these parts, it's an obsession.

Little white dog sadness here too *sniff*

Great random post, and I am with you on almost all of them. And you are so right. What the heck is NH thinking? It is no secret that I lean a little bit conservative and my undeclared status had me wondering up to the time I stood in line which ballot I would choose, but McCain? Ummmm. No.

Ditto on the knit faster, miss Christmas music, warm weather (for another day, then please back to winter), Pete's stuff on the floor, the tree. Everyone here does their own laundry and there are strict rules, so I shouldn't see a pile (as I lean over and see a mountain on the laundry room floor-that is when you know Meg is home). But I never crave taco salad. Ewww. :)

Sniff. Everybody is so frickin sweet. It makes it damn hard to hate. Frack.

Sick admission No. 1,234: I have the same sickness as Andy about the clean/dirty/not quite dirty clothes thing. I know. You didn't know that about me, did you? :@)

Posted by: Norma on 01.09.2008 AT 09:34 PM

I barely know Norma and never met the lil white dog but my heart hurts for them all the same...

...as for your chicken, try this: http://www.jamiesdinners.com/menu/?m=3&ret=challenge

It is by far the bestest chicken dinner I've ever made - and I've made a LOT of chicken dinners. ;o)

Posted by: JessaLu on 01.09.2008 AT 08:42 PM

As soon as I read about the little white dog, I knew what happened. Now I am crying too. I haven't taken down my tree either. It's not totally dry yet! Tomorrow for sure.

Posted by: suz on 01.09.2008 AT 06:49 PM

There is nothing wrong with loving a doggie you have never met. Seems normal, in fact.

Curry the chicken? Or is it too late to vote on the chicken?

What does Fig think about the tree still being up? When will it become a fire hazard?

Posted by: Cookie on 01.09.2008 AT 06:27 PM

I hear you on the white dog.
